Fortunately, the current administration has tried to bring these numbers more in line with what Mainers in the private sector earn. As recently as 2009, those numbers were much higher at 2,169 and 435. EXECUTIVE BRANCH The executive branch of Maine state government is home to many of the state’s highest paid employees.
