I. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Ms. McGill called the meeting to order at 9:04 a.m.

II. APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES MINUTES 16-07; MAY 23, 2016 Mr. Gott moved to approve the minutes as presented. Ms. Campbell seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

MINUTES 16-08; AUGUST 22, 2016 Mr. Antonetz moved to approve the minutes as presented. Ms. Campbell seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

III. TOWN HALL REPORT- MR. GERVAIS & MR. CHINAULT  Nance Park- Fertig’s Sharper Cuts has cut, has finished cutting palm trees at 9-3 cut.  Ocean Beach Park- Public Works replaced bulbs on ballards that were out.  Ocean Beach Park- Public Works replaced parking meters at heavily traveled access ramps or crossovers.  Orlando Park- Public Works replaced irrigation heads throughout park.  Douglas Park- Public Works repaired Gazebo with cedar for strength.  Living Shoreline Project- Brevard Zoo, FIT, Brevard County Resources are all assisting in a grant to fund to restore and improve vegetation in the lagoon.  Lily Park drainage project- expect construction to start in January 2017.  Scaevola- Scaevola Taccada will be in the process of being removed from Crossover 1, after Sea Turtle Season, which ends October 31, 2016. Other vegetation will be planted in its place.  Crossover 1, 3, 10, Access 8 and Sunrise Park- Boards and steps will be replaced on the beachside after Sea Turtle Nesting season ends.

BEAUTIFICATION STATUS OF BEAUTIFICATION AWARD SIGN Ms. Berkman moved to recognize ABC Liquors, Inc. #020, 300 North Miramar Avenue, with the Committee’s beautification sign. Mr. Antonetz seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. Ms. Mercer will send a letter to the property owner advising of the Committee’s decision. The sign will remain at the current location of 300 Tenth Terrace, until arrangements have been made to relocate the sign. Nominations for the next location will be brought before the committee at the next scheduled meeting.

Mr. Antonetz let the Committee know that the sign was in need of a good cleaning, so he took it upon himself to clean the sign.

V. PARKS PARKS UPDATE TRADEWINDS PARK - CATHERINE BERKMAN No comments.

WAVECREST PARK, INDIALANTIC OCEAN BEACH PARK & WAVECREST EXTENSION PARK – JENNIFER MCGILL & MINDY FORD No comments.

Ms. McGill advised Staff that at Crossover 15, screws are coming up out of the boards.

DOUGLAS PARK & ERNEST KOUWEN-HOVEN RIVERSIDE PARK - JOANNE NADEAU Not present.

SUNRISE PARK & VINCENT BENEVENTE SUNSET PARK - BERNIE GOTT No comments.

Ms. Horschel expressed opposition to locating Skate features in Sunrise Park.

GUS CAREY PARK & SEA PARK - YVETTE CAMPBELL & SARAH HORSCHEL No comments.

NANCE PARK & INDIAN RIVER PARK – BILL ANTONETZ The tree trimming job looks good in Nance Park. Some concerns about the color of the Bath House.

ORLANDO PARK & DEWEY PARK – LISA PETERS Not present.

VI. RECREATION TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY, DECEMBER 1, 2016 Ms. Berkman confirmed the dates of Thursday, December 1st and Friday, December 2nd for a rain date.
