SPECIFICATION TEMPLATE FOR: NOVAPANEL Classic Class 3 WALL CLADDING Exposed Fixing External Cladding SECTION 1 - GENERAL Scope 1. Supply and Installation of NOVAPANEL Classic class 3 wall cladding with related accessories and equipment to all areas nominated below and/or on plans. 2. Including but not limited to : a) BGC INNOVA / James Hardie Exotec Fixing System b) Sarking /Water proofing c) Sealants, Flashings & Fixings

Related Work 3. Coordinate and cooperate with the following trades: a. Structural , Concrete ,Light Timber Framing, Light Steel Framing ,Masonry / Brickwork , Quality Control 4. Submit panel sample early in construction phases in each selected colour and gloss to the Architect for approval and signature before to commencement of production. (sample may not show Minor undulations and Imperfections of Class 3 finish) Return the signed sample panel to the manufacturer to implement the warranty. Give sufficient notice so that inspection may be made of framing complete with sarking and flashings ready to receive cladding.

Submissions 9. Include cleaning and maintenance, warranty, product details and applicable ratings with product sample. Should an alternative product be submitted as similar, the Architect will require three samples, 250 mm x 250 mm, submitted in the specified colour and gloss, as a proposed equal, to Novapanel paint finish for independent weather testing and future warranty assessments.

Delivery, Handling & Storage 10. All products are to be delivered in the original packaging of supplier bearing the brand name, colour and gloss, thickness and any other relevant data. 11. All materials are to be stored in a dry secure area away from any hazardous goods. 12. Order in sufficient time prior to scheduled requirement; to avoid delays.

Warranty 13. If installation is not by manufacturer, and product warranty is conditional. The installer shall submit the manufacturer’s written approval of the installing firm. 14. Warranty term: Materials 15 years 1. Installation 5 years 15. Installer shall show certificate of approval from manufacturer for installation to be warranted by Novaproducts.

PART 2 – MATERIAL Materials 16. Panels to have smooth even edges free of imperfections such as chips, cut to suit the layout, allowing for a joint gap of 11 mm width between panels. 17. Preparation: Panels to be machine sanded free of scale and slurry. Back seal panels with Novaclassic undercoat applied to a film thickness of 14 – 26 um, for warranty purpose. 18. First Coat: Undercoat face of panels with Novaclassic undercoat applied to a film thickness of 79-99 um. 19. Top Coat: Machine sand face and edges of panels. Spray NovaClassic topcoat in the selected colour and gloss. Compressed Fibre Cement 20. Eaves and soffit linings: Type A Category 3 / Category 4 (prefinished) 21. Compressed cladding: Type A Category 4 22. Edges: Square arrissed or as specified

Flashings: 23. Aluminium / zinc coated steel – colour and gloss matched to cladding. (With NOVACLASSIC Top coat).

PART 3 – EXECUTION Site Examination 26. Before fixing cladding, check, and if necessary adjust the alignment of substrates and framing. Commencement of installation work on site means total acceptance of conditions. 27. Negotiate and prepare protected covered holding area for Panel Storage , layout area , cutting areas with good access to work face .

Cladding Installation 28. NOVAPANEL Classic class 3 James Hardie / BGC INNOVA exposed fixing installation system – refer to technical manual. 29. At least 1 person must be experienced at installing CF to JH or BGC specifications and be inducted at Novaproducts office Novapanel.This person MUST be on site at all times that cladding is being installed. (induction has a $150 per session up to 6 persons ) 30. Framing shall be NOVAPANEL Classic class 3 Exposed Fixing system. Install framing in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. 31. Fasteners shall be 10-16 x 30mm wafer head Class 3 zinc plated screws to AS 3566. Pre-finish screws to match colour and gloss of panels. 32. Panels to be screw fixed to framing through pre-drilled holes and Plastic bossed washers. Holes to be drilled 1mm oversize.

Preparation 33. Provide all accessories and trims necessary to complete the installation . Plan ahead for protecting all hard surfaces from damaging panels during installation.

Maintenance & Protection 34. Submit a maintenance manual and technical specification of the cladding system setting out the manufacturer’s recommendations on maintenance, to the principal at Practical completion. Include the names and addresses of the suppliers, manufactures and installers of each component. When installation is complete; Remove extraneous matter and marks.

Final Completion 35. Complete all contracted work in accordance with contract documents and written variation orders issued by the Architect. 36. Work will be regarded complete after being inspected and approved. Brackets ( ) show options to choose from.
