Freightliner

Starting on October 7, 2002 Linc will start picking up for a new customer, Freightliner. This new launch brings new business and new opportunities for the Logistics Insights Corporation. From the beginning we will be handling a limited amount of material for just 8 plants. Most of the work will occur on first shift and most of the loads will be released from the dock by 1200 noon each day. The plant names and addresses for the new destinations are:

001 Portland Freightliner LLC 004 Cleveland Truck Plant Freightliner LLC 6936 North Fathom 11550 Statesville Blvd Portland, OR 97217 Cleveland, OH 27013

017 Mt. Holly Freightliner LLC 018 Gastonia Freightliner LLC 1800 North Main St 1400 Tulip Dr Mt. Holly, NC 28120 Gastonia, NC 28052

030 St. Thomas Freightliner LLC 034 Gaffney Freightliner LLC 350 South Edgeward Rd 552 Hyatt St St. Thomas, ON N5P 4C4 Gaffney, SC 29341

056 American LaFrance LLC 065 Mercedes-Benz Mexico 11710 Statesville Blvd c/o Allied Forwarding Co. Cleveland, OH 27013 13713 N. Unitec Drive Laredo, TX 78045

There will be new carriers for most all of these lanes, and some we already deal with.

*New* UPDS Corporation will be moving the loads from Linc to 001 Portland, they will have Morgan Southern coming in to pickup these loads and moving them directly to Chicago. These loads will only be emailed to UPDS per their request, this may change as the amount of loads increase. UPDS will be bringing in 40' and 45' trailers, with these SCAC's:

NOSU, GSTU, TOLU, TPHU, TRLU, APHU, APLU, APZU, SCZU, ISCU. There may be some off the wall SCAC's but these should make up the bulk of them. Note: we have to ensure that none of GST's 40' or 45' trailers are loaded outbound to Mexico or Austria. An easy way to ensure that this doesn't happen is the trailer number should start with 40… or 45…, also the sea container loads should be accompanied by the drivers interchange papers.

UPDS International will be handling the lane from Linc to 065 Mercedes-Benz Mexico, better known as Santiago. We will be emailing these loads to UPDS, and Reserve Transport. The contacts at both Chrysler and Freightliner will be the same, we will still be sending to the same email addresses both lanes.

*New* Walker Transport will be handling the Linc to 030 St. Thomas, these loads will closed using pars stickers and emailing to Livingston prior to the load being emailed and picked-up.

*New* Werner Transport will be handling the remaining plants - Linc to 004 Cleveland Truck, Linc to 017 Mt. Holly, Linc to 018 Gastonia, Linc to 034 Gaffney, Linc to 050 York Axle, and Linc to 056 American LaFrance. Some destinations can be mixed on the same trailer - Linc has been authorized to combine destinations on single trailers, Freightliner has set up a specific loading procedure for these. We are only to combine material after Freightliner has been contacted and authorizes Linc to do so. When loads are being mixed we are to separate each destination with a cardboard sheet marking what is behind it (plant name).

Destinations that can be combined: 056 American LaFrance tail loaded for first stop and live unload and 004 Cleveland Truck nose loaded for final stop where the load is then dropped.

034 Gaffney tail loaded for first stop and live unload, 018 Gastonia loaded in the middle of the trailer for second stop and live unloaded, 017 Mt. Holly loaded in the nose of the trailer for final stop where the load is then dropped.

At the launch we will not have ASN's or ASC's everything will be done manually and a copy of the manifest will be attached to the emails that are sent out to the carriers and the plants. Key contacts at all the plants will be receiving the same emails that are sent to the carriers.

There is an extensive paperwork process for these loads due to no ASN's or ASC's, besides the manifest being emailed to the plants. We are going to provide a copy of the parts manifest and the suppliers P/S in the rear of the trailer. The driver will be provided with Bill of Lading, and a parts manifest. The customs packet will have the parts manifest with original pars sticker, the parts manifest will need to be emailed to Livingston when the load is closed (in the body of the email the pars number needs to be listed), and copies of the suppliers customs. Linc file packet will need copies of everything; the dock tally, the parts manifest, CGPS, suppliers p/s, customs forms, and B/L.

Email addresses have been provided by the plants, carriers, customs, and corporate. We have to ensure that everyone has set-up email groups exactly as instructed if one person at the plant level does not receive the email we could shut down a plant, due to the plants not being online as of yet.

OSD's will be handled much the same way, we will detect, record, and report. Freightliner is very strict when it comes to damages, it is critical we record and report all damages. A separate Excel file has been created for the Freightliner account, as well as a group email has been set-up for everyone at the plant level and corporate.

Expedites - per the manual that was given to us it notes that the Freightliner Material Planner will call the RILC and request a shipment to be expedited. Most requests for expedites will come from corporate, if a supplier call to divert a shipment we are to instruct them to contact Freightliner Corporate.

A phone list has been created and forwarded to all for Freightliner Corporate and Plant level. We have been instructed to contact Jeanne Smith (503)745-8274, she is the primary contact for Customer service, if you can not get in contact with her you should refer to the secondary contact at Freightliner Corporate prior to calling the Traffic Coordinators and the plant level.

During the launch some of the information provided above may change, please check you email daily for updates.

Thank you,
