Windthorst fifth graders recently completed a program called Spotlight on Smokeless (SOS) offered through the Region 2 Prevention Resource Center in Abilene. They learned about the dangers of using smokeless tobacco and other tobacco products. After the program was completed, the students wrote letters of thanks and to inform the directors what they learned through the program. The letters were appreciated by the staff. On March 23, 2011 (Tobacco Free Kid’s Day), Windthorst 5th graders were presented with a t-shirt, bookmarks, stickers, poster and more for their hard work by Lakeshia White and Kristi Le who came from Abilene.
