The Department of Genetics and Complex Diseases (GCD) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant or associate professor. The shared interest of GCD faculty is to explore metabolic biology and gain insights into common and complex human diseases through basic research. The successful applicant will hold a PhD and/or MD degree and will have a record of outstanding productivity in an area that complements the existing research and training goals of the department. The candidate should possess the ability to work collaboratively with other scientists and the scholarly qualities required to mentor doctoral students in the PhD Program in Biological Sciences in Public Health within Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Generous start-up packages and state- of-the-art research facilities will be available. GCD has particular interest in recruiting individuals with research programs in the following areas:

• Systems approaches (gene-editing, chemical biology, synthetic biology), applied at a mechanistic level, to problems of metabolic homeostasis, gene-environment interactions, and adaptive metabolic responses • Tumor cell metabolism and the impact of host metabolism on cancer development and progression • Mechanisms of signal transduction and integration, especially in the context of energy and nutrient sensing, metabolic homeostasis and organelle biology and dysfunction • Inflammatory and stress responses with emphasis on chronic metabolic or degenerative diseases and aging
