In groups you will create 8 postcards to represent the characteristics of the terrestrial biomes. Your 9th card will be a recipe of your Bounty of the Biomes Food item. 8 biomes 1. Taiga (Boreal Forest) 5. Chaparral 8. Tropical Rainforest 2. Temperate Rainforest 6. Deserts (both Hot & 3. Temperate Deciduous Forest Cold) 4. Grasslands 7. Savanna PART I: Postcard Requirements – must be 5”X7” cards (DUE ______) 1. FRONT: a. Collage of Pictures (or hand-drawn pictures) of the Flora/Fauna/Landscape in your biome – IN COLOR!! b. World Distribution (cut out the world maps below and shade the area covered in your biome) c. Climatograph for your biome (as the postcard’s stamp) – should be about the same size as the world map 2. BACK: a. Name of Biome b. Relative Productivity (Low, Medium, or High? Explain why!) c. Climate Info  Average Annual Temperature (°F)  Average Precipitation (cm)  Relative Insolation (Low, Medium, or High? Explain why!) d. List of the types of plants and animals found in this biome e. Limiting Factors f. Human Impacts on this biome

PART II: Bounty of the Biomes Recipe Card & Food Item (DUE ______) You must create a home-made food item representative of any biome you choose. It may be a food that comes from your biome or a food that’s decorated to look like your biome. Creativity Counts! If you choose store-bought food, you will lose points.
