OPTIONAL TOUR TO STEPHAN G STEPHANSSON HOUSE & TOWN OF MARKERVILLE: Interested in a tour leaving Sunday morning for Markerville with a tour of Stephan G Stephansson’s house and the town of Markerville? This optional tour will leave from the hotel at 8:30 am and return by 4pm; guided by the Stephan G Stephansson Icelandic Society (SGSIS) the tour will visit Stephansson House, a Provincial Historic Site, and the hamlet of Markerville, AB, for a Scandinavian cuisine luncheon served in Fensala Hall. Following lunch, tour Historic Markerville’ s Creamery Museum, the Lutheran Church and the Buttermaker House. If time allows, a stop will be made at the Tindastoll cemetery. A minimum of 48 people are needed for the tour to run. The cost for the bus trip, tour and lunch will be $55 per person. In the event the tour does not run, an email will be sent asap to those who have signed up and money will be refunded at the Convention. *50/50 Raffle Tickets: 50/50 tickets will be pre-sold during registration and sold throughout the Convention. If you are unfamiliar with 50/50 tickets, this is how it works: the prize in a 50/50 is 50% of the money taken in by the raffle ticket sales, the remaining 50% will be retained by the ICCE. A person can purchase as many tickets as they want and each ticket purchased equals one entry in the drawing for a winner. The winning ticket will be drawn after the Gala Dinner on Saturday evening. The greater the number of tickets sold, the greater the cash prize!
