ANDERSON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP 1. Applicant plans to major in a science related field 2. Applicant must be write a small paper, 300 words, how he/she overcame adversity in high school 3. Applicant must complete the Dollars for Scholars application

BEAR CREEK CHAPTER WHITETAILS UNLIMITED 1. Applicants must attend an accredited trade school, college, or university 2. Applicants must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA 3. Complete and return the Bear Creek Whitetails Unlimited Application to the office.

BERAN, RAY & IRENE --MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form.

BERAN, BILL -- MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 (maintained honor roll status throughout high school). 2. Participated in both fine arts and athletic extracurricular activities throughout high school. 3. Participated in community service. 4. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form.

BLOMME, COLTON -- MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Attend university, four year college, community college or other postsecondary training. 2. Participated in extracurricular school activities (ie. sports, fine arts, etc.) as well as non-school activities (ie. 4-H, community events, etc.). 3. Provide a copy of transcript 4. COATS-TOBIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Preference Would be Given to Senior(s): 1. Planning to study in the field of Education, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Biotechnology, or related majors. 2. Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, or is in the top 25% of the graduating class. 3. Has been employed or experienced extracurricular activities related to the chosen course of study (ie. FFA, 4-H, Mentoring, Farm Work, Big Brother/Big Sister Program, Etc.) 4. Intends to stay in Iowa after college graduation. 5. Enroll in a two-year or four-year college in Iowa 6. Complete and submit written essay with application form (500 words or less) describing how your chosen course of study has affected or impacted your life or future plans. 7. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form. COOPERATIVE TELEPHONE COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP 1. Recipient will have demonstrated competence in academic performance in high school with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. 2. Preference will be given to a student who plans to study in the areas of technology, electronics, or computer science. This scholarship will be awarded to the next best applicant if no one has plans to pursue the above areas. 3. Complete and submit the HLV Scholarship Application

HARTWICK FIRE DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP 1. Recipient is a resident of Hartwick Fire Department District 2. Involvement in school activities 3. Demonstrates service to the community 4. Complete the HLV Scholarship Application Form.

HARTWICK QUASQUICENTENNIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Recipient must reside in the town of Hartwick. 2. Complete HLV Dollars for Scholars application 3. Scholarship will not be awarded if no one meets criteria.

*HALL, ALLEN – MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (Foundation Scholarship) 1. Preference may be given to a senior(s) pursuing a career in auto or diesel mechanics. 2. Complete and submit Dollars for Scholars application form.

HAROLD E. SMITH POST, AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP 1. Complete and submit the Harold E. Smith Post scholarship application 2. Write an essay in 200 words or less on “What My Country Means to Me.”

IOWA MOLD & ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP 1. Recipient must be attending a 2 year community college. 2. Recipient must be majoring in Tool & Dye, Engineering, CAD, or a metal working related field 3. $1,000/year for 2 years. 4. Complete HLV Foundation Application 5. 2 letters of recommendation from teacher and employer 6. Include a copy of transcript with application 7. Applicants will be considered based on GPA, strength of math curriculum 8. No scholarship will be awarded if no one meets criteria.

*JACK, BURDETTE – MEMORIAL 1. Preference may be given to a senior attending a community college, technical school, or business school. 2. Complete and submit Dollars for Scholars application form. *KINZE MANUFACTURING SCHOLARSHIP (Dollars for Scholars Scholarship) 1. Be a graduating senior from HLV Jr/Sr High School 2. Have demonstrated good attendance throughout high school 3. Have earned a minimum 2.5 grade point average 4. Have recognized leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, and other youth activities. 5. Indicate evidence of a strong work ethic and determination to succeed 6. Plan to attend 2 or 4 year college/university or vocational/technical school. 7. Submit all three required forms: a) Completed Dollars for Scholars Scholarship application form. b) Written recommendation from a teacher or school official. c) Written recommendation from someone outside the school who is not a relative. 8. Considered fields of study: Agricultural Science, Advanced Manufacturing/Production, Education, Engineering, Business Information/Accounting, Human Resources/Management, Supply Chain, Accounting, Administrative Office Programs, Ag Production, Biotechnology, Business Information, Computer Science, Diesel Mechanics/Technology, Drafting, Electronics Technology, Graphic Design, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Pre-Engineering, Welding. (This list is not exhaustive.)

KINZENBAW, MILDRED & JACK -- MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Although preference is given to candidates who express interest in studying in the fields of education or agriculture, study in these fields is not required in order to receive this scholarship. 2. Cumulative GPA for freshman year in college must equal or exceed 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. 3. Preference to students attending a four year college/university. 4. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form.

KUBU, JIM -- MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP(S) 1. One scholarship recipient must have high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or above. 2. One scholarship recipient must have high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above. 3. Complete and submit Kubu Memorial Scholarship application form. 4. In a written statement describe how you would utilize the funds received from the Jim Kubu Memorial Schoalrship in 500 words or less.

LADORA FIRE DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP 1. Minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average during high school. 2. Preference given to senior(s) living in Ladora fire district. 3. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form.

MASCHMANN, SCOTT -- MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. High school grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or above. 2. Active in Community Service. 3. Financial Need. 4. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form.

MERRINGER FARM SCHOLARSHIP 1. High school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above. 2. Major in an agricultural-related fields (ie. Agronomy, ag-business, something directly related to agriculture). 3. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form.

MUSIC BOOSTERS SCHOLARSHIP(S) 1. Academic performance in high school. 4. Must maintain 2.0 GPA in college. 2. Participation in fine arts. 5. Complete and submit HLV Music Booster application form. 3. Post-secondary participation in music.

PRAIRIE MUTUAL INSURANCE ASSOCIATION 1. Applicant or Applicant’s parents must have insurance policy with Prairie Mutual prior to the time of application. 2. Applicant must have a cum. GPA of 2.25 or higher 3. Applicant must have been active during high school in and outside of high school. 4. Print and Fill out Prairie Mutual Insurance Application 5. PETERS, LaVERA (SCHULTZ) -- MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Academic performance in high school. 2. Involvement in school activities and service to the community. 3. College major in an education related field (required). 4. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form.

POWESHIEK COUNTY SHERIFF’S SCHOLARSHIP 1. Applicant must live in Poweshiek county 2. Applicant must major in Criminal Justice or a related field of study 3. Recipient must maintain a “C” or above in college. 4. Please submit 3 letters of references from school staff members 5. Write an essay of a minimum 300 words stating why you wish to enter a career in criminal justice, any work experience, or any information that may be helpful to the association when evaluating your application. 6. POWESHIEK MUTUAL CLIFFORD L. STROVERS SCHOLARSHIP – paper application only 1. Applicant must be admitted to an accredited university or college 2. Recipient must be a full time students both semesters of the scholarship year. 3. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher 4. Complete application and mail form to the address by April 1st. 5. Must have a letter of recommendation by a faculty member. 6. Applicant must provide a certified transcript. 6. POWESHIEK LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP 1. Two $250 awards will be given to a male and a female student. 2. Recipients must be strong leaders 3. Applicants will be judged on civic duty 4. Complete and submit the HLV Scholarship application

READ ELECTRIC AWARD 1. Competence in academic performance in high school with cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above. 2. Receive postsecondary schooling for a minimum of two years. 3. Preference given to a student who has taken at least one Industrial Tech course during high school and/or an active FFA member and plans to study in the areas of agriculture, construction, engineering. 1. Recipient will maintain a 2.0 GPA during freshman year in college. 2. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form. 3. Recipient will be awarded scholarship money at the beginning of the student’s 2nd semester of their 2nd year of college upon verifying to Read Electric, Inc. their upcoming class schedule and previous transcripts. This award is paid direct to the student and it is the student’s responsibility to contact Read Electric for payment.

SMITH, DEREK -- MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Attendance at a community college or technical school. 2. Priority given, but not limited to, study in an agriculture-related field. 3. High school grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or above. 4. Community service. 5. Financial need. 6. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form. SPORTS BOOSTER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP(S) 1. Immediate family member of HLV Sports Boosters during three years of high school. 2. Participation in two sports during three years of high school. 3. Maintain 3.0 grade point average (GPA). 4. Complete and submit Sports Booster Club application form.

SUCHY, WILLIE J. – MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Recipient must be an HLV graduating senior 2. Priority will be given to a student who plans on majoring in Natural Resource or Statistics/Math 3. Complete and Submit the Willie J. Suchy Memorial Scholarship Application 4. Why have you chosen your field of study; what are your career goals; and what contributions do you hope to make in your chosen field?

TROUT, ROBERT -- MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Priority will be given, but not limited, to study in the field of education. (If there are no graduates who are majoring in the field of education, the scholarship may be awarded to a graduate studying in a business-related field.) 2. Consideration of financial need and possibly not receiving other scholarships. 3. Complete and submit HLV Scholarship Application Form.

WILGENBUSCH, JOSEPH – MEMORIAL (Dollars for Scholars Scholarship) 1. Priority will be given, but not limited, to some area of music and/or performing arts. 2. High school participation in music or fine arts for at least two years. 3. Respected as a person of good character, positive leader, participated in volunteer work. 4. High school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. 5. Submit a letter of recommendation from a non-relative which describes applicant’s character. 6. Submit short essay or project that answers “How does music or other performing arts influence your life”. 7. Complete and submit the Joseph Wilgenbusch Memorial Scholarship Application Form.
