MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ST. MARTINVILLE, LOUISIANA
HELD ON THE 20th DAY OF MARCH, 2017.
The Mayor and City Council of the City of St. Martinville, Louisiana met in Regular Session on the 20th day of March, 2017 at City Hall, their regular meeting place, pursuant to the call of the Mayor.
THERE were present: Thomas Nelson, Mayor Mike Fuselier, Councilman Debra Landry, Councilwoman Margaret C. Robertson, Councilwoman Allan L. Durand, City Attorney
THERE were absent: Craig Prosper, Councilman Dennis Williams, Councilman
Mayor Thomas Nelson presiding, called the meeting to order.
Upon motion of Debra Landry duly seconded by Mike Fuselier and unanimously carried that the minutes of the regular meeting held March 6, 2017 hereby be approved as written and prepared for publication in the Teche News, the Official Journal of the City of St. Martinville.
Upon motion of Margaret Robertson duly seconded by Mike Fuselier and unanimously carried that the bills to be paid by the City Finance Committee hereby be approved for payment.
Upon motion of Mike Fuselier duly seconded by Debra Landry and unanimously carried that permission be granted for Louisiana Youth Elite Tigers to hold a Red-Light Drive on
Saturday, August 5, 2017 to help pay expenses for equipment.
City Council meeting 3-20-17 Upon request of Hamilton Ledet, Jr, it was moved by Debra Landry duly seconded by
Margaret Robertson and unanimously carried that permission be granted for use of one of the baseball fields in Adam Carlson Park. Mr Ledet plans to start and fund his own baseball league,
Joseph Collins Baseball League, in accordance with LHSAA Guidelines.
Upon recommendation of Chief Joseph Nedie, is was moved by Debra Landry duly seconded by Margaret Robertson and unanimously carried that the employment status of Tony
Galyean be changed from Reserve Officer to full time Police Officer with a rate of pay of $13.97 per hour.
Upon recommendation of Chief Joseph Nedie, it was moved by Mike Fuselier duly seconded by Debra Landry and unanimously carried that Stephanie Guidry be hired as a dispatcher with a rate of pay of $9.17 per hour.
Upon motion of Mike Fuselier duly seconded by Debra Landry and unanimously carried that the pay rate of Substitute Chief Joseph Nedie be added to the agenda of this meeting.
Upon motion of Mike Fuselier and unanimously seconded that, in accordance with state statue, the pay rate of substitute Police Chief Joseph Nedie be adjusted to $25.97 per hour for the duration of said appointment.
There being no further business to come before the Mayor and City Council, Mayor Thomas Nelson adjourned the meeting upon motion of Debra Landry duly seconded by Mike Fuselier.
