Inner Bore Transducer

Company: PCB Model: 102A21 Specifications: http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=102A21&item_id=9900 Reason for having sensor: The inner bore transducer will measure the pressure within the compression chamber. It will measure how the chamber pressure changes during the different stages of compression. Inlet Air Pressure Company: PCB Model: 101A05 Specifications: http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=101A05&item_id=8275 Reason for having sensor: The inlet air pressure sensor will be used to determine the air pressure entering into the compressor via the air suction unit. This measurement will then be compared to atmospheric pressure in order to determine the amount of suction pressure the compressor creates. Outlet Air Pressure

Company: PCB Model: 102A21 Specifications: http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=102A21&item_id=9900 Reason for having sensor: The outlet air pressure sensor will be used to determine the air pressure exiting the compressor via the storage tank. Inlet Air Temperature

Company: Omega Model: RTD-805 Specifications: http://www.omega.com/Temperature/pdf/RTD-805_RTD-806.pdf Reason for having sensor: The inlet air temperature sensor will be used to determine the temperature of the air entering the compressor via the suction unit. By comparing the inlet and outlet air temperatures, it will then be possible to determine how much the compressor heats up the air it uses. Outlet Air Temperature

Company: Omega Model: RTD-805 Specifications: http://www.omega.com/Temperature/pdf/RTD-805_RTD-806.pdf Reason for having sensor: The outlet air temperature sensor will be used to determine the temperature of the air exiting the compressor via the storage tank. By comparing the inlet and outlet air temperatures, it will then be possible to determine how much the compressor heats up the air it uses. Air Flow Meter

Company: Omega Model: FTP-936 Specifications: http://www.omega.com/Green/pdf/FTB930.pdf Reason for having sensor: The air flow meter will be used to determine the volume of air that the compressor can exhaust. The measurement of flow will then be compared to the outlet air pressure in order to draw a correlation between flow and pressure. Inlet Water Flow Rate & Temperature

Company: Omega Model: FV101 Specifications: http://www.omega.com/Green/pdf/FV100.pdf Reason for having sensor: The inlet water flow rate and temperature module will be used on the water entering the compressor. The measurements collected will then be compared to the outlet water flow rate and temperature module in order to determine the heat transfer characteristics of the compressor. Outlet Water Flow Rate & Temperature

Company: Omega Model: FV101 Specifications: http://www.omega.com/Green/pdf/FV100.pdf Reason for having sensor: The outlet water flow rate and temperature module will be used on the water exiting the compressor. The measurements collected will then be compared to the inlet water flow rate and temperature module in order to determine the heat transfer characteristics of the compressor. Motor Torque Company: TBD Model: TBD Specifications: TBD Reason for having sensor: The motor torque sensor will be used to determine the amount of power the compressor needs in order to operate. From the information collected, RPM and horsepower can then be calculated. Accelerometer (X, Y & Z axis)

QuickTime™ and a decompressor are needed to see this picture.

Company: PCB Model: 623C00 Specifications: http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=623C00 Reason for having sensor: The accelerometers will be mounted onto the skid of the compressor to measure the acceleration caused by the reciprocating compression chamber. By measuring the acceleration of the X, Y & Z axes, a 3D model can be created to illustrate the movement of the compressor at a given time. Velocity (X & Y axis)

QuickTime™ and a decompressor are needed to see this picture.

Company: PCB Model: VO622A01 Specifications: http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=VO622A01&item_id=11185 Reason for having sensor: The velocity sensors will be mounted onto the skid of the compressor to measure the velocity caused by the reciprocating compression chamber. By measuring the velocity of the X & Y axes, a 3D model can be created to illustrate the movement of the compressor at a given time. Oil Pressure

Company: PCB Model: 101A05 Specifications: http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=101A05&item_id=8275 Reason for having sensor: The oil pressure sensor will be used to determine the oil pressure entering into the compressor. This measurement will be used to detect any anomalies that may cause a failure of the compressor. Oil Temperature

QuickTime™ and a decompressor are needed to see this picture.

Company: Omega Model: PR-12 Specifications: http://www.omega.com/Temperature/pdf/PR-12.pdf Reason for having sensor: The oil temperature sensor will be used to determine the oil temperature entering into the compressor. This measurement will be used to detect any anomalies that may cause a failure of the compressor. Tank Air Pressure

Company: PCB Model: 102A21 Specifications: http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=102A21&item_id=9900 Reason for having sensor: The tank air pressure sensor will measure the pressure within the air storage tank. It will measure how the tank pressure changes while operating the compressor. Tank Air Temperature

QuickTime™ and a decompressor are needed to see this picture.

Company: Omega Model: RTD-NPT-72 Specifications: http://www.omega.com/Temperature/pdf/RTD-NPT.pdf Reason for having sensor: The tank air temperature sensor will measure the temperature within the air storage tank. It will measure how the tank temperature changes while operating the compressor.
