COMPUTER APPLICATIONS ROCK N ROLL POWERPOINT PROJECT (SPRING 2009)

You will be using PowerPoint to create a presentation about a musical artist or band. Possible sources of information include: www.rockhall.com www.rollingstone.com www.billboard.com As a minimum, you should have the following included in your slides:

Completed Elements to be Included Notes Slide 1: Title Slide Name of band and picture. Slide 2: Name of band In bullets—member information. Picture. Slide 3: History of the group Minimum of 4 bullets Slide 4: Awards and Album Sales. List information in a bulleted list. Decorate with 2 or 3 clipart images that illustrate what you have included on the slide. Slide 5: Songs List at least 3 of their most well known songs and information about each one. Include Smart Art with style effect on slide. Slide 6: My Favorite Things about the band. Use at least three bullet points to tell this. Slide 7: A conclusion page that summarizes your PowerPoint. Slide 8: Your name and the sources for information and photos. Throughout your slides, use at least 5 pictures or Clip Art. Change background to a theme and colors of your choice. The font you choose should be easy to read. You should also have no more than two fonts used in the entire file. Spelling should be accurate. Use Spell check (Right Click on any wavy red underlines.) Include one slide transition for all your slides. Animate bullets to appear one at a time. Remember to follow the 6x6 rule for bullets and words

Be careful in your choice of colors and fonts; your information should be attractive and yet easy to read and understand. Move your text boxes and clipart images around to get the most visually pleasing design. You may want to link or include brief cuts of their music but not a whole song since you will present your work to the rest of the class. You are encouraged to use the “Notes” feature of PowerPoint so you don’t read your slides when presenting it.
