Issaquah Nourishing Network May 17, 2016 Meeting Minutes

(Volunteer Needs) (Client/Customer Needs) Order by date most upcoming events will be at the top. - Does anyone want to help me with the website updates? There will be a training in the next several weeks.

Don – Passage Point: Thank you for all the collaborations

Elizabeth – Interfaith Coalition: Tiny House Presentation & Redmond City Council regarding Tent Encampment policies.

Cathy – Justserve.org: Looking for our communities volunteer needs so that she can help meet them.

Bill Lageman (NEW) – St. Joseph’s Church ([email protected]) : Here to do outreach and build relationships.

Troy Kemp – Issaquah Police: Just here to connect

Ryan Wiedmaier (NEW) – Friends of Youth, SAFE Place ([email protected]): Landing = shelter, job search and support services in Redmond for 15-24 year olds. SAFE Place are emergency locations including Metro youth can go to get connected with an immediate advocate.

Brynnen –Compassion House: Volunteer training available on June 23 from 5:30-7pm. They are looking for 2-3 more volunteers so they can fill an open house. They prefer teams of 5.

Judi Case – Our Savior Lutheran Church: Volunteering and supporting Passage Points clothing closet and welcome baskets. Soon there will be a reading program at PP.

Kate – Our Savior Lutheran: Safe Parking Program has several guests right now. Kate plans to market their services to the Snoqualmie Valley.

Madeline Fish – Eastside Baby Corner: Pants Party Art contest underway.

Linda Benson – Nourishing Network Central: INN Website is available Cori Walters – Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank: Open House to show off new food and clothing bank service space June 2 from 5-7pm

Connie Fletcher – Our Savior Lutheran / Issaquah Kiwanis: Lunch for the Break is going to go district wide for the 2016-2017 school year.

Dave Wagonner – Community Volunteer: Orca Lift To-go at City Hall Eagle Room May 20. Senior Programs Care hosted by the City of Issaquah- meeting 11:30-1 at Tibbets Manor all are welcome to share the thoughts and ideas about senior services. Memorial Day Event (need more information contact Dave ([email protected])

Kim Weiss – ISF / PTA Counsel: Tools4school event in August has space available in the Resource Alley. Power Packs is in the pilot phase at Liberty HS and is getting food out to kids on Fridays for the weekend. This program will need funding and donation support. There’s a plan to launch Power Packs at Clark Elementary School in the fall. Plan is to feed 30-45 kids per week and it’s going to cost about $5 per child per week.

Margarita and Rosann Rankin (NEW) – ISF & ISSD ([email protected]) : Intro to school fair for ESL families. Re-enrollment program is going to be at Apollo, IVE and May Valley Alliance Church. Goal is to go to where ESL parents and help them get their children re-enrolled.
