INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN

We are covering a range of different topics this term and the children will have lots of opportunities to develop a range of skills.
In English, the class will be introduced to a range of different stories, including traditional tales, patterned and fantasy stories. They will be encouraged to write their own stories and develop their story language.
Through Maths we will be focussing on the importance of number and how we use it in our daily lives. We will be learning about adding, taking away, grouping, halving and doubling. In addition, the children will be introduced to money and shape. It is important for the children to develop their mental maths skills when completing different operations.
During our DT lessons the children will be looking at a range of different materials and their properties. There will be the opportunity to build and make simple structures.
In RE we plan to learn about the world around us and how we should care for it. We will also be listening to a range of Bible stories, including the ‘Creation’ story. CURRICULUM SUMMER TERM 2016
History: Homes.
PE: Co-ordination and agility.
RE: Caring for our world.
DT: Building blocks and structures. .
MUSIC: Exploring sounds, music from around the world and rhythm. .
Computing: Using programmable toys and following directions.
PSHE*: New beginnings, Getting on and falling Out. Working with ALL of our friends.

Every day you will need Reading Folder, Reading book & record, yellow home contact book.
MONDAY:

WEDNESDAY: Library book
THURSDAY: Homework book/ Spelling book
FRIDAY: PE Kit
Homework and Spelling Books need to be handed in every Thursday. New tasks will be set and given out every Friday.
