Call to order The meeting was called to order at 2:05 Eileen Crump pm.

Approval of Meeting Helen moved to approve the April 27, Eileen Crump Minutes 2015 minutes. Michelle seconded the motion. Ryan, Jenna, Bill, Gigi, and Leslie abstained. The April 27, 2015 meeting minutes were approved by the committee. Introductions Everyone present introduced themselves.

Leslie Daley from Nursing joined the Pro- fessional Development Committee.

Review Professional The Professional Development Week Au- Sharon Beynon Development Week gust 10 – August 14 offered sixty-five workshops.

The New Part-Time Faculty Orientation held on Wednesday, August 12, was at- tended by 24 new part-time faculty.

The New Full-Time Faculty Orientation held on Monday, August 10, was attended by fourteen new faculty members.

The New Classified Staff Orientation held on Friday, August 7, was attended by 5 new employees.

Flex Week is now referred to as Profes- sional Development Week.

Eileen will compile the numbers of atten- dees for Professional Development Week.

Workshops could be scheduled every hour-and-a-half to give staff enough time to get to the next workshop.

The possibility of having evening work- shops to accommodate part-time faculty who work only in the evening was met with a positive response.

The recommendations for the New Part- Time Faculty Orientation are:

 Make it 2-3 hours.  Have faculty use computer to log on to the VCCCD portal.  Have a follow-up meeting after one month.  Part-time orientation needs to complement each division and department.

A checklist of college resources and best practices will be created for new part- time faculty.

Matthew Moore will create a D2L Men- toring Shell that will include FAQ.

Kristin Clark and Sharon Beynon created a list of full-time faculty and part-time fac- ulty to match up mentors for new faculty. The responsibilities of the mentors are still being developed.

Committee The Professional Development Committee Sharon Beynon Charge/Membership charge will be revised to include adminis- trators in the membership.

Ventura College online calendar that in- cludes all college events is in develop- ment. Faculty Academic will be meeting this Tuesday.

Professional Development will transition to Lynn Wright next year.

Sharon Beynon will create a list of Profes- sional Development Committee Co-Chairs responsibilities. Committee will vote for a co-chair for the 2015-2016 academic year. Sharon will email list to committee.

The Ventura College administration wants to continue SITE while including the entire college district.

ALAS Grant Training Regional Transfer Success Summit and Gwendolyn Transfer Success Student Academy will be Huddleston, Sharon held on September 25 - 26, 2015 at CSU- Beynon CI.

Training is open to Full-time and Part-time faculty. Faculty must attend training to be eligible to receive up to $1000 grant.

Gwen will email agenda to committee.

Instructional Technology Matt will add a Survey Monkey link to the Matthew Moore Training Needs/Training portal, so distance education faculty can survey give feedback regarding the best times for trainings and topics for workshops.

Travel Fund Proposal Form The Travel Fund Proposal for fall 2015 is Gigi Fiumerodo due September 4. The travel fund is avail- able for only full-time faculty.
