Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting September 21, 2016

The meeting was called to Order at 7:00 pm by President Fritz Roll Call: Faulk B, Faulk M, Fritz, Knaggs, Laba, McCarty and Pattee. Absent: Knaggs Also Present: Kris Willis, DPW Supervisor, Donny Rickett, Fire Chief, Jerry Ostrowski and Dan Scheuneman.

Additions or amendments to this agenda.

Approve the minutes of the 8/17/16 regular council meeting. Motion Pattee, Support by McCarty. Passed

Approve the minutes of the 9-7-16 Finance meeting. Motion Laba, support M Faulk. Passed

Motion by Laba and supported by B Faulk to accept the Treasurers report as given, and to pay the bills as written, with the additional bill from the IRS in the amount of $2114.82 in penalties, and to the State of Michigan in the amount of $27708.50, for the South Main Street project which is the Village’s share to pay. Passed

Fire Report was given by Chief Rickett. Motion by M. Faulk, support by Pattee. Passed

DPW Report was given by Kris Willis. Approval for Kris and Bob to take upcoming water classes, and lodging , motion by Pattee, supported by Laba. Purchase of Snow blower, motion by Laba, supported by McCarty. Motion by McCarty, supported by Pattee to hire T. Erbe to do wiring repairs to the Sterling plow truck. Passed with two no votes

Presidents Report: Shade Screen for park has arrived. The DPW will put this up at a later date. Notes form 9-9-16 Administration meeting discussed. Motion by M Faulk, supported by McCarty for the one time addition to Utility accounts with Refuse to ad $25.26 to the September billing, to pay back Deficit in this account to State of Michigan.

Act 51 was discussed, and updated with council.

Clerks Report: NONE this month.

New Business: S. Main payment to the State of Michigan, Snow blower purchase and repairs needed for the Plow Truck were discussed in the DPW report of this meeting.

Old Business: Cleaning of Well B, was discussed and tabled until next month’s meeting in which the DPW Supervisor will have an advisor form Lane present at this meeting to discuss the process with the council. Motion by McCarty, support by Laba to table until next month’s meeting. Passed Summer events, Village events were discussed at this time. Council to get ideas for upcoming events, or ask residents what they would like to see, and bring to future meetings. New Year’s fireworks were discussed; no decision was made at this time. Public Comments: NONE
