Trip Mad River Day Trip We’ll be fishing on the middle and upper sections of Description the Mad River. The middle section (roughly from County Line Rd to Lippincott Rd) is typically good streamer and nymph water and is fairly channelized. The upper river (Lippincott Rd. to West Liberty) is smaller water and will be excellent technical dry fly fishing. This section is much more of a natural spring creek. If there is a section of the river you’d like to learn, please include that information in the comments section of your registration. For those who continue fishing after lunch, we can try to put you on a different section of water than you fished in the morning. The river is stocked and does not have any special regulations. You will likely catch brown and rainbow trout and some warm water species such as rock bass, suckers, etc.
We will make sure that any new fly fishermen or folks new to the area are paired up with someone that has experience with both fly fishing and the area. We encourage folks to travel and fish with at least one partner for safety.
A valid Ohio fishing license is required for this trip.
