Post Title : Corporate Alliances Specialist Proposed level : P3 Duration : 11 months Starting date : January 2015 Duty Station : La Paz, UNICEF Bolivia Supervisor : Katarina Johansson, Deputy Representative

Background: In the context of Bolivia rapid economic growth and the recent shifts from traditional bilateral donors, UNICEF Bolivia sees an opportunity to develop strategic partnerships with the private sector and its different stakeholders to reduce disparities, improve the situation of children and protect their rights in Bolivia. The interactions will take different forms ranging from mobilizing resources (corporate philanthropy), promoting positive changes in business practices through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), supporting programmes for children and encouraging innovations.

Purpose of the post: Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative and in close collaboration with the Communication Specialist, the incumbent will provide technical expertise to the UNICEF Country Office (CO) in the design and implementation of its corporate engagement strategy, including both corporate philanthropy and CSR to achieve results for children.

Major duties and responsibilities: • Finalize the CO’s corporate engagement strategy for 2015-2017, in line with UNICEF’s global approach and key initiatives; • Incorporate the CO’s mapping exercise currently under development to understand the business sector and CSR landscape in Bolivia; • Develop and help implement an action plan setting the direction for 2015 and beyond (establishment of new partnerships involving both fundraising and CSR); • Identify potential partnerships, identify key programmatic linkages and advocacy opportunities (health, nutrition, WASH, education, child protection) to include corporate engagement as a core strategy to achieve better results for marginalized children and women; • Enhance capacities of staff through information and training sessions and support material; • Share best practices and lessons learnt, both within the CO and with other countries in the region; • Provide input to meetings, proposals, reports and consultations as required.

Education, Work Experience and Competencies:

1. Education:  Advanced university degree in Business Management, Marketing or equivalent.  An Undergraduate University Degree can be accepted with additional qualifying experience. 2. Work Experience:

 Five years of experience in fundraising, marketing or sponsorship, ideally with experience in corporate fundraising  Minimum two years working experience with the private sector and very good understanding and experience of the UN system, especially UNICEF  Experience in conducting and leading corporate social responsibility assessments is an asset  Significant experience in at least one of the following areas: child rights, brokering partnerships between international organizations and private sector  Having an understanding of social development is an asset

Additional skills:  Excellent inter-personal and networking skills  Proven track record of working to deadlines  Demonstrated proposal and report writing skills  Fluent oral/written English  Working knowledge of Spanish would be a critical asset  Facilitation skills, particularly design of stakeholder consultations exercises is an asset
