9.4.9 Ship-sourced pollutants reception facilities in marinas code
9.4.9.1 Application This code applies to assessing material change of use for the following development, where indicated within Part 5 Tables of assessment: (1) Port services, with six or more berths; or (2) development which contains individual dwellings that have a structure that contains six or more berths emanating from common property, such as in a body corporate arrangement. When using this code, reference should be made to Section 5.3.2 and, where applicable, Section 5.3.3, in Part 5.
9.4.9.2 Purpose (1) The purpose of the Ship-sourced pollutants reception facilities in marinas code is to ensure that all marina development facilitates the installation, maintenance and availability of reception facilities for ship-sourced pollutants to prevent marine pollution. (2) The purpose of the code will be achieved through the following overall outcomes: (a) Marina development facilitates the proper and convenient disposal of ship-sourced pollutants; and (b) Facilities are designed and operated to ensure the risk of spillage from operations is minimised.

AO1.2 Where practical, the marina pollutant reception facility is connected to sewerage or other waste reception infrastructure. Plumbing and Drainage Act 2002. The plumbing compliance assessment process will ensure that the proposed facilities address ‘peak load’.
