3. What is Orsino’s response to Lady Olivia’s avowal of grief? That he loves her even more and will continue to pursue her.

4. Where does Viola think Sebastian is? In Elysium (heaven)

5. Give the line that indicates Viola thinks Sebastian might still be alive. I saw your brother, Most provident in peril, bind himself, Courage and hope both teaching him the practise, To a strong mast that lived upon the sea

6. What had the captain observed Sebastian doing? Holding tight to a mast from the ship, floating on the sea.

7. How had Viola heard of Orsino and what does she remember about him? From her father, hat he was a bachelor

9. What is Viola’s plan? To dress as a man and become part of Orsino;s court

17. How does the clown prove to Olivia that she is “the fool”. He states her brother is in Hell, to which Olivia responds that he most definitely is not. He then asks why she would mourn her brother when he is in Heaven, a better place?

18. What are Malvolio’s feelings toward the clown. Dislikes him, doesn’t find him funny or witty.

19. Explain the meaning and use of “Jove”. Reference to the Roman god.

20. Explain Viola’s reaction to Olivia (upon removal of the veil) That her beauty should not be hid from the world.

21. How does Olivia react to Viola’s profession of Orsino’s love? She falls for him.

22. What does Olivia do after Viola (as Cesario) leaves? Sends Malvolio after Cesario to return the ring that he left (which is all a ruse, Cesario never left a ring).

23. Prediction: What will happen when Malvolio returns the ring to Cesario?
