What motivated you to attend this particular lecture? Comments: -presenter -general knowledge -lecturer's qualifications on the topic -to learn about resources -personal interest in genealogy -interested in all Maryland Record sources -Wanted to see/visit Archives -Learn more genealogical resources -Interesting, more and better ways to research in MD -Always learn something -I wanted to learn where in MD these documents could be found -increase knowledge for future research -My interest in knowing more about death and probate records to aid my genealogical research

What did you like about the lecture? Comments: -I could hear it clearly -Lots of examples -Explanation of terms and application to research was clear -Sense of humor increased interest -informal and informative -informed and ability to ask questions -Mr. Barnes' knowledge is very impressive, the lecture was well done, the Q&A afterwards was fascinating -informative, good use of humor

What did you not like about the lecture? Comments: -too short -a little too focused on Baltimore County/City -too much on how to publish -did not find out where to find these records -no visuals, powerpoint

In the future it is possible that the Maryland State Archives may charge patrons fees to attend lectures. The fees generated would allow the Maryland State Archives to pay its speakers honorariums to lecture. As of now all speakers are donating their time. Under what circumstances would you be willing to pay fees to attend a lecture?

a) Food would need to be provided b) The speaker would have to be impressive -it depends on the speaker and the topic c) The lecture would have to be longer than two hours d) I would need a precise fee dollar amount to answer the question e) A combination of a, b, c, and d f) I am only interested in attending free lectures -unless fee was minimal
