2nd OPEN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

in kumite among men and women in weight categories

and in kata among men and women

September 27-28, 2008, Moscow, Moscow Center of Martial Arts

General Information

Kyokushin-kan International 2nd European Championship in kumite among men and women in weight categories and in kata among men and women will take place in Moscow on September 27-28, 2008.

THE COMPETITION PROGRAM INCLUDES:

1. KUMITE competitions by the rules of Kyokushin-kan International:

among men (above 18 years old, 2nd kyu and above) in 4 weight categories:

up to 70 kg; up to 80 kg; up to 90 kg; over 90 kg.

among women (above 18 years old, 2nd kyu and above) in 3 weight categories: up to 55 kg; up to 65 kg; up to 65 kg.

2. KATA Competitions by the rules of Kyokushin-kan International among men and women (above 16 years old, 4th kyu and above).

Obligatory program: Gekisai Sho in the 1st round, and Saiha in the 2nd round. Voluntary program – 1 kata at option from the list: Kanku, Seipai, Sushiho, Garyu or Seienchin.

ADMISSION TO COMPETITIONS is granted to national teams of national organizations – members of Kyokushin-kan International.

Admission to competitions can be also granted to national teams of national organizations, belonging to other international organizations of Kyokushin karate-do or other karate-do styles, recognizing competition rules of Kyokushin-kan International, at the decision of Organizing Committee.

A national team can include:

- 1 official representative of team;

- 1 coach;

- 1 team doctor;

- up to 3 fighters for each kumite category among men and women (maximum 21 fighters);

- up to 2 competitors for men’s and women’s kata (maximum 4 competitors);

- judges.

Kyokushin-kan Karate-Do Federation of Russia, being the organizer of the Championship, has the right for the double-sized team.

MEDICAL INSURANCE Each participant must arrange an insurance policy, covering cases of accident (casualty), applicable for the all period of stay in Russian Federation and participation in the European Championship!

PAYMENTS

Kyokushin-kan Karate-Do Federation of Russia takes the responsibility to partially compensate the participation expenses of teams.

Kyokushin-kan Karate-Do Federation of Russia will compensate hotel expenses for 1 fighter in each men’s weight category, 1 coach, and 1 judge (maximum 6 persons).

All team members will be served with meals during the 2 days of competitions.

Kyokushin-kan Karate-Do Federation of Russia also bears the responsibility in assistance with ordering of lodging in Moscow.

ASSISTANCE WITH OBTAINING RUSSIAN VISAS

National teams from the countries, for citizens of which Russian entry visas are required, shell apply for assistance with obtaining Russian visas at least 2 months before the Championship. Please, contact Leonid Koshelev via phone (+7 (495) 649-35-48) or e-mail ( loko @kyokushinkan.ru).
