TEACHING STYLE AND INTERESTS I believe that instructors should design courses they would enjoy taking as students. Specifically, courses should enhance student learning, encourage application of the material, and should be taught fairly. My teaching style includes extensive use of in-class discussions and demonstrations, encouragement of student questions, application of students’ knowledge and experience to course materials, and use of take-home essays, independent research, and informal oral presentations.
