Department of Community and Economic Development Interoffice Memo

CITY OF BETHLEHEM Department of Community and Economic Development Interoffice Memo

To: J. Michael Schweder, President of Council From: Irene Woodward, Housing and Community Development Planner Re: Resolution for Redevelopment Capital Assistance Grant Program – Historic Bethlehem Partnership

I would like to request that the attached resolution be placed on an upcoming Council agenda for consideration.

Historic Bethlehem Partnership has been selected to receive $3 million to preserve and restore certain buildings and sites and to develop a cultural resource center. In order to receive the funding the City of Bethlehem must act as the applicant under this program on behalf of Historic Bethlehem Partnership.

There will be no financial commitment on the City’s part for this project, but it will be necessary for the City to act as a pass through for the funds.

The resolution authorizes the submission of the application as well as authorizing the preparation of a cooperation agreement between Historic Bethlehem Partnership and the City for the pass through of funds and the assignment of administrative requirements under the Redevelopment Capital Assistance Grant Program to Historic Bethlehem Partnership.
