Position: Ticket Office Manager Reports to: Director of Finance Status: Full Time / Exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for overall campus-wide ticketing Directs and oversees the internal control of daily operations Hire, train and manage two full-time and more than 20 part-time ticket office employees Coordinates all event information between the promoter, facility personnel and Ticketmaster Works with event promoter and appropriate personnel to establish ticket pricing and seating configuration. Builds and modifies all computer ticket events and issues computer access codes to facility management. Coordinates with event promoters to establish the house scale for all ticket events. Maintains communication with Ticketmaster representatives for updates and/or revisions in computer operations. Monitors daily ticket sales for all upcoming events Prepares final settlement reports Responds to customer complaints and service requests to maintain a positive rapport with the ticket buying public. Maintains and manages accurate financial records Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance, able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance. Establish, review and execute standard department policies and procedures Submit and manage annual department budget. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Position requires ability to:
Recognize and solve related problems efficiently and rapidly while handling a large volume of tickets and cash. Operate Ticketmaster software and a personal computer using Excel, Windows and Microsoft Office software. Operate standard office equipment including copier and fax machine. Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, properties and percentages accurately and efficiently. Handle/reconcile large sums of money utilizing prescribed cash management controls. Demonstrate knowledge of principles of bookkeeping, accounting and box office procedures. Work in a fast paced environment and handle heavy workload that can present stressful situations. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results. Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative. Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment. Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur. Ability to stay current with training on new techniques and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of four (4) years in the public assembly industry in a management position; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in Ticketmaster Classic and TM One required. Experience with other ticketing platforms a plus. Experience with management of annual multiple series Broadway subscription base required.
