TITLE: ASUW Ambassadors Program Coordinator CATEGORY: ASUW Services REPORTS TO: ASUW Office of Volunteer Opportunities Director TERM: 11 Weeks HOURS: 12 Hours/Week for Autumn Quarter PAY RATE: $9.83/HR

JOB SUMMARY:

The Ambassadors Program Coordinator serves to assist the Office of Volunteer Opportunities Director in the planning and execution of the ASUW Ambassadors program. This position will primarily focus on coordinating the logistics of the Ambassadors meetings, including: assuring speakers will be present, preparing materials, assembling job-shadowing opportunities, managing general recruitment, and maintaining contact with Ambassadors to assure a beneficial learning experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Create the ASUW Ambassadors program curriculum. 2. Reserve facilities for ASUW Ambassadors meetings. 3. Coordinate an end of the quarter banquet for the ASUW Ambassadors to celebrate their participation in the program. 4. Lead weekly ASUW Ambassadors meetings in coordination with the Office of Volunteer Opportunities Director. 5. Contact public speakers from ASUW or the UW community to present at ASUW Ambassadors meetings. 6. Promote the ASUW Ambassadors program with the OVO Director throughout all communities to recruit a strong and diverse pool of applicants. 7. Encourage the Ambassador to attend at least one ASUW event and coordinate presentation during a meeting. 8. Facilitate in obtaining concert ticket giveaways and other promotional items via record label contacts.

9. Responsible for sending out weekly informational emails to ASUW Ambassadors. 10. Maintain organization of files and historical documentation of the ASUW Ambassadors program.

Ambassadors Program Coordinator, Pg. 1 11. Plan an ASUW Ambassadors meeting that centers on the Board of Directors, including a sit-in on an open Board of Directors meeting.

12. Maintain and inform the ASUW Personnel Director and the Student Activities Office (SAO) adviser of all completed and missed office hours, including any absences due to sickness, personal emergencies or work-related trips.

13. Encourage the attendance of events in support of other entities to foster a community atmosphere.

14. Hold one-on-one meetings with each Ambassador to establish a relationship and connect them with future opportunities within their interests.

15. Meet with SAO adviser as needed and upon request, as well as participating in a quarterly evaluation process.

16. Attend ASUW mandatory training sessions and staff meetings, including by not limited to the ASUW Fall Orientation and ASUW Personnel meetings.

17. Review and adhere to conditions of employment as stated in the ASUW Personnel Policy, the signed ASUW Memorandum of Understanding and the Student Employment Handbooks. All actions must also follow the laws and procedures set by ASUW, SAO and the State of Washington.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Thorough knowledge of the ASUW and its programs and procedures.

2. Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.

3. Strong organizational, delegating and planning abilities.

4. Strong public speaking skills.

5. Demonstrated creativity and enthusiasm.

6. Familiarity with ASUW Ambassadors Program preferred.

7. Must be a UW student enrolled in at least 6 credits or on leave as defined by Executive Order 50.
