With June drawing to a close, Shazam’s team of experts looked back at the first half of 2018 to gain insight into the year’s biggest movers.
2018’s most popular songs so far are a mix of artists who have continued phenomenal momentum from 2017 - led by Ed Sheeran - and exciting new tracks from the likes of Marshmello & Anne Marie, Rudimental and Nicky Jam & J Balvin.
“Even though Ed’s album ÷ is now more than a year old, the songs from it continue to be Shazamed in large numbers,” said Julian Marshall, Global Head of Content. “With some big releases incoming from Drake, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, and tracks like “X” still in our Worldwide Top 10, it’ll be interesting to see if he’s still top of the charts at the end of the year.”
