Reminder There will be NO chapter displays at the Xi State Convention this year. We will be highlighting the state committees for their work this biennium.

Executive Board Meeting All current Chapter Presidents, past Xi State Presidents, and current Xi State Officers need to be present at this meeting on Thursday at 1:30 in Gailor Hall Auditorium for our annual business meeting. Pick up your voting cards outside of the auditorium.

50 Year Members 50 Year Members recognized at the Awards Luncheon on Friday. Be sure you have submitted the name of anyone from your chapter to Dr. Kathie Harned [email protected]

Mini-Mall at Xi State The Xi State Convention Mini-Mall has a few more spaces available if chapters or committees would like to reserve space. Please contact Dr. Dorrie Powell at [email protected] as soon as possible.

Chapter Presidents At the President’s Banquet on Friday night, the current Chapter Presidents, the Area Directors, and the Past Xi State Presidents will be recognized. This is your time to put on that special attire and celebrate! International Projects “Some schools in Africa they need a helping hand. So save up all your pennies and donate them if you can. And think about the differences you've made both far and near And know that you have changed some lives and wiped away some tears."

Don't forget to bring your change to Sewanee for Schools for Africa! Has Xi State reached our $5,000 goal????

Orientation Tea First time attendees to the Xi State Convention are invited to attend the Orientation Tea on Thursday, June 6th .

Order of the Rose Recipients will be presented Thursday evening, June 6th at 7 PM.

Membership Information: The Xi State Membership Committee will make the following recognitions at the Xi State Convention: Members with 10, 20, 30, or 40 years of membership Chapters with positive growth in membership over the past year Chapter with the most members in attendance* Chapter with the highest percentage of members in attendance* *The criteria for these two awards will be based on registration numbers as of May 15.

Educational Excellence Dr. Dorrie Powell invites chapters to share Educational Excellence program or project highlights for inclusion in her EEC workshop at Xi State Convention. Pictures or narrative descriptions may be emailed to her at [email protected]. Brag on your chapter and help other chapters join our state-wide campaign for Educational Excellence.

Xi State Silent Auction We need baskets or individual items to auction off at the Silent Auction. The money raised from this event is used to fund our Leadership Training Conferences held to prepare our members for future leadership positions. Every member can apply for the Beginning and Advanced Leadership Training which are held around the state and at Sewanee. If your chapter participates it will receive a certificate and given points toward chapter awards given in June. The baskets can reflect any theme such as reading, bath, kitchen, gardening, crafts, grandchildren entertainment, movie night, coffee, chocolate, recipes, and many other themes. Many members submit crafts or sewing projects to raffle off. We hope you and your chapter will consider an entry for our auction. Thank you for your participation. Vision Foundation For our display at Convention - WE NEED YOUR HELP!! We want to show show what teachers have done with monies received from grants and the Liz Whorley Bradley Awards. Please send any pictures with some narration to to explain your project to Barbara Hinson at [email protected] or 307 Park Avenue South, Hohenwald, TN 38462 ASAP!!! Emergency Fund Donations We are collecting money to replenish the DKG Emergency Fund. If you or your chapter members have received this check from the Society [after experiencing an unexpected damage from floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.] then you know how important it is to have this fund to help our sisters. Please send your donations to Nancy Davis at Xi State with the designation that it is for the Emergency Fund. Please give generously to this great cause.
