Role Summary

To manage all Everton in the Community’s Youth Community Cohesion programmes working with Everton in the Community’s management team, staff, partner staff and young people to implement and deliver a first class community cohesion programme.

The programmes have the ability to play a powerful and influential role in many young people’s lives by using interventions to promote the benefits of a positive education, physical activity and community social action. We discourage young people from engaging in anti-social and criminal behaviour, explaining the negative impacts of their actions on the communities where they live. We create awareness of how to improve metal health and build resilience though physical activity.

The Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, monitoring and evaluation of the Kicks, PL Girls and Sister Club projects. This includes line managing the Community Cohesion Football Coordinator, Kicks Mentors, PL Girls Coordinator and Sister Club Coordinator as well as overseeing partnership agreements, working effectively with key partners, keeping the projects on schedule, under budget and gaining maximum exposure through effective dissemination of the projects impact.

Key Responsibilities General . Direct and manage the new round of Premier League projects by executing the Business Development Plan in line funding requirements. . Manage, appraise, lead, direct and motivate team members providing support and expertise when necessary, whilst encouraging flexibility, ownership and accountability. . Develop pertinent project plans and communication schedules around project outcomes to ensure the objectives of the programme are continually met, and exceeded. . Implement, monitor and manage project changes to ensure project outcomes are achieved . To work with staff and participants to create opportunities for volunteering with a key emphasis on 14-25 year olds. . Create a relevant strategy to engage and maintain interest of the relevant target group (local young people aged 8-18 years). This may involve outreach work and more general marketing and promotion . Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. . Regularly liaise with project stakeholders to include Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Youth Offending Services and other relevant partners, whilst continually managing their own expectations. . Manage the project budget effectively and ensure costs do not exceed the funding received. . Present regular reports, defining project progress, timelines, milestones, problems and solutions, in line with all funding requirements. . Assure project partnership agreements are delivered, completed and monitored. . To oversee the delivery of interventions appropriate to the young people’s needs and identified risk factors, both during referral and throughout their time on the programmes . To create a market leading range of community education workshops and education sessions, in consultation with young people to ensure innovative and creative delivery . To implement a robust Quality Assurance framework to ensure coaching standards and risk management is first class . Establish a formal project steering group to involve key stakeholders and the young people, with effective meeting schedules, terms of reference and decision-making processes. . Implement Youth Voice Plan in to all programmes

Welfare, Development & Support . To promote and encourage self-confidence, esteem and empowerment within the team and young people attending the programmes . Oversee group work which enables young people to work constructively with others. . Work with individuals to involve them in their own development; encourage individuals to be involved in the planning and delivery of community sessions. . Work as a reflective practitioner, and encourage project team staff to reflect on their own delivery and learning throughout the project. . Support the accreditation of young people’s learning through Local and Accredited Awards. . Monitor the welfare and development of the project team and individuals over the course of the programme. . To ensure the projects team delivery staff are well informed, involved in appropriate staff training and kept up-to-date in relation to industry CPD. Managing People & Developing Strong Working Relationships

. To provide inspirational leadership and guidance to direct reports and other team members. . Set operational and/or performance goals for the team which are clearly linked to the long term goals of the Lotteries team and encourage development of the existing operation. . Monitor department performance against performance goals to ensure that progress is being made. . Lead weekly departmental meetings and actively participate in other meetings (internal & external) as and when required. . Conduct regular meetings with Team members to ensure that priorities are clear and coordination is good. Complete Performance Reviews for all direct reports as and when required, oversee development for all team members, identify areas for development and work closely with team members to ensure.

Other . Promote equal opportunities, including developing awareness of young people around these issues. . Monitor potential safeguarding risks and work with the Safeguarding Officer of EITC, and the Head of Safeguarding for Everton Football Club to promote good practice throughout the programme. . To undertake any other additional duties, consistent with the role as may be deemed appropriate by your line manager

Experience of working alongside organisations management capacity, including all aspects of in the youth justice sector, such as youth process development and execution offending services, fire service engagement or the police . Experience of working with hard-to-engage or vulnerable young people, or groups facing . An understanding of effective practice research similar challenges on early intervention theory and programmes . Knowledge of project management challenges, . A track record planning, organising and techniques and tools overseeing youth/community led initiatives

Qualifications Essential Desirable
