Welcome & Introductions
HSC 2020 Leadership Council Updates -The Community Health Needs Assessment survey phone calls and key informant interviews and Website/Press Articles (Jenny Vorpagel) completed. They are waiting to get the data back, including the secondary data and will have all the data by June. The Leadership Council will be working with committees on their outcomes and strategies. The call to action event will be in September. From October through December the committees will write work plans for 2018-2020. In 2014 Kate and Kristin wrote the MHSA work plan. Future MHSA full meetings will be working meetings. -Lakeshore Community Health Care is the new fiscal agent for HSC2020. Thank you to Aurora for being the previous fiscal agent. -If you ever see updates that need to be made on the HSC2020 website, please send an email to [email protected] . Please continue to submit events via the HSC2020 website. -Sheboygan Press articles are booked through May. If you are interested in writing an article for later in the year please email Jenny Vorpagel at [email protected]. Please look ahead on your calendars to see if you would like to write an article for an event or awareness week/month as dates can fill up quickly! SBIRT Sub-Committee Update (Kari Keller/Shelby -There will be two trainings in August for schools to implement SBIRT: August 2nd-3rd and August 9th-10th. Kuhn) All public schools in the county are involved except for Kohler and Howards Grove. Kiel may be added. -Cindy is working with Kristin and Tom M. on referral to treatment. They are hoping the brief intervention will be enough for a lot of kids. -The committee just reviewed their work plan and they are doing very well with the current CHIP objectives. -Schools can also do mental health first aid to help identify people to SBIRT trained staff at schools. ITEM DISCUSSION/CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATIONS Heroin Sub-Committee Update (Libby Holte/Kurt -Heroin Community Presentation “Training”—Are you interested in giving community presentations? Email [email protected] to RSVP Thursday April 20th 2:30-4:30pm in HHS Room 413 Friday April 21st 8-10am in HHS Room 413 -The prevention pillar is working with the schools in hopes that they will complete the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) which is the only tool for youth data. Barriers include time and the possible pressure to correct the problems the results show. We can get county level data instead of school district data and is done at 7th, 9th, and 11th grades.

Stigma Sub-Committee Update (Kate Baer) -Jessica Miner is planning the AODA resource fair being held on Tuesday May 2nd 4-7pm at St. Dominic’s in Sheboygan. A volunteer sign-up sheet was passed around. There are currently 20 vendors, five of which are brand new. There will be ads on city buses in April and flyers being distributed county-wide. The event will feature free pizza and cookies. MHA is also holding a poster contest for middle schools with the theme of “What does mental health mean to me”. The winning schools to receive a $25 Wal-Mart gift card and they work will be hung inside MHA. -Prevent Suicide Conference is April 19th in Wisconsin Dells. Visit this website if you’d like to attend: http://www.preventsuicidewi.org/conference -The committee is also working on widely distributing the resource guide and is working on planning a QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) training in Sheboygan. -Aurora is putting on a two part series of “Your parents are getting older” on May 2nd and May 9th. -“Being Mortal” is continuing to be shown around the county -The week of April 16th is National Decisions Week. There will be an article about it for HSC2020 in the ROUND TABLE - Agency updates & info Press. -A tri-county initiative (Sheboygan, Washington & Ozaukee) working on setting up a center to take care of children who have been abused. -UW-Sheboygan is working with Safe Harbor for sexual assault month Other
