Colony expectations

Beavers are expected to attend Colony meetings on a weekly basis unless ill or on holiday. In addition to this Beavers are expected to attend the Armistice Day parade on the nearest Sunday to the 11th November at Pontarddulais Cenotaph. Details will be confirmed nearer to the event.

As a Beaver Colony we follow the Scouting Code of Conduct to safeguard the welfare of all members by protecting them form physical, sexual and emotional harm.

One of the main ingredients of a good Beaver Colony is underlying discipline. All Scouts are expected to behave appropriately and inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Generally, minor incidents will be dealt with a telling off at the time by the leader in charge. More serious examples, such as bullying, will result in the Beavers parents being contacted, and the Beaver possibly being suspended. These measures seem obvious, but we feel it important that all members are aware of what is expected of them. Obviously the main aim of Beavers is to learn and have fun in a safe, happy and secure environment.

Parental Support

As a group we have a number of activities we undertake to raise funds for the group as well as help in running weekly sessions. If you are able to help in anyway please let us know by email [email protected] or speak to a leader.
