2015/16 SCHOLARSHIPS $500 -$2000

A $2,000 scholarship is being offered for the 2015-16 school year by the Penn-Cumberland Garden Club in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. This award will be given to a high school senior or a current college student who is planning to attend a four-year college in 2015/16 with a major in Horticulture, Floriculture, Agriculture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Sciences, Conservation, Urban or Regional Planning, Forestry, Botany, or allied plant or ecology related studies. Information and applications can be found at your guidance office or financial aid office. See also PCGC web-site at penncumberlandgarden.org.

Applications are due by March 31, 2015. Mail completed applications to Kay Rowe, PCGC Scholarship Committee Chairman, 814 Meadow Lane, Camp Hill, PA 17011-1545.

In addition, the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (GCFP) offers ten $1000 scholarships annually. Applicants must be a resident of Pennsylvania, and a college student or high school senior who is planning to attend a four-year college to study Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, Conservation, Forestry, Biology, Botany, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Environmental Science, Planning (City, Rural, or Urban), Land Management, and/or allied plant or ecology related subjects. The Penn- Cumberland Garden Club is interested in sponsoring deserving students for these GCFP scholarships. For information and an application for these awards, go to the GCFP web site www.pagardenclubs.org and click on “Scholarship Preparation Information.” The student may fill out the application and send it directly to the State (GCFP) Scholarship Chairman, Mrs. Paul Dapp, by February 15, 2015 . (See note below.)

Note that on page #5 of the application, the signature of the President of the sponsoring club is required. Send the completed application to PCGC President, Judy McGinnis at [email protected]. She will e-mail the signed application back to you. You may also mail the application to Judy McGinnis, PCGC President, 2510 County Line Road, York Springs, PA 17372-8920. She will return it for you to send to the State Committee Chair. Be sure to leave sufficient time for these mailings to be completed.

A $500 scholarship is available for current or entering HACC students, majoring in Horticulture, Floriculture, Environmental Science, Biology, or other plant related studies. Applications are due by March 31, 2015.
