MEMORANDUM FOR Potential Officer Candidates for the 1st Battalion (OCS), 70th Regiment (LDR) Class #46
SUBJECT: Maryland Officer Candidate School Application Procedures
1. Congratulations on your decision to apply for the 1st Battalion (OCS), 70th Regiment (LDR) Class #46. If you can meet the challenge, you will receive your commission as a Federally Recognized Second Lieutenant in the Maryland Army National Guard.
2. Enclosed with this Orientation Packet, you will find the following: Overview of OCS Phase Objectives Maryland Officer Candidate School Application Battalion / MSC OCS Applicant Screening Board Appraisal Sheets (4 copies) Autobiography Cover Sheet and Instructions Directions to Camp Fretterd IDT/AT Training Schedule
3. To initiate an OCS application packet you and your unit will have to complete the enclosed Maryland OCS Application Form. Once your commander has signed the form, your unit will enroll you in OCS Phase 0 (Orientation) and forward your application and OCS Applicant Screening Appraisal forms to HQ 70th Regiment (LDR). Upon receipt of these complete documents, HQ 70th Regiment (LDR) will mail an acceptance letter to you.
4. While you are waiting for your acceptance letter, begin compiling the following documents: Autobiography (following enclosed instructions) Copy of Social Security Card Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate Official College Transcripts from all colleges attended (have your school mail them to the address listed on the next page) ACT / SAT exam scores (If no Bachelor’s Degree; taken on or after 12 June 1994)
5. Your unit must forward the following items to HQ 70th Regiment (LDR) to complete your OCS Application Packet: DA Form 705 (APFT Card) Medical / Dental Records (original) with current Chapter 2 Physical Verification of Enrollment in OCS Phase 0 in ATRRS RTI-MD-OCS (600) SUBJECT: Maryland Officer Candidate School Application Procedures
6. Upon receipt of your acceptance letter, mail or hand-carry all of the documents listed in paragraph 4 to:

7. All components of your OCS Application Packet that are listed in this memo must arrive at HQ 70th Regiment (LDR) no later than 24 February 2004.
8. OCS orientation weekend will be held on 06-07 March 2004, attendance is mandatory. Further instructions for orientation will be sent with your acceptance letter.
