Human Tissue Amendment Act 2009†

The Parliament of Victoria enacts:

1 Purpose The main purpose of this Act is to amend the Human Tissue Act 1982 to enable persons who have attained the age of 16 or 17 years to consent to donate blood without their parent's consent. 2 Commencement This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

After section 20 of the Human Tissue Act 1982 See: insert— Act No. 9860. "20A Definition of child for the purposes of Reprint No. 3 as at sections 21, 22 and 23 1 June 2004 and For the purposes of sections 21, 22 and 23, amending Act Nos child means a person who has not attained 97/2005, the age of 16 years.". 59/2006, 12/2008, 72/2008 and 77/2008. LawToday: www. legislation. vic.gov.au 4 Repeal of amending Act This Act is repealed on the first anniversary of its commencement.
