Associate Counsel & Vice President Served as Associate Counsel responsible for preparing and negotiating complex lease / sublease contracts, construction agreements, assignment / assumption agreements, indemnity agreements, post-occupancy agreements, use declaration agreements, and agreements for environmental remediation activities. Participated in asset purchase acquisitions and exchange of stores.

 $50 million in sales proceeds secured by overseeing the sales and leaseback of 10 store locations that provided the needed capital critical in helping the company avert bankruptcy.  Promoted firm’s sales goal of one stop shopping by developing and implementing the first prototype bank in retail store shared use business lease across numerous locations throughout the U.S.  Attained 30%+ in sale growth by supporting the legal swap of 30 unprofitable stores for more profitable locations with a rival drug chain.

Attorney Negotiated and prepared urban redevelopment agreements for automobile plants and housing developments. Prepared office space, industrial and warehouse leases.  Prepared and negotiated a development agreement for a $1 billion automobile plant, resulting in creation of approximately 3,000 jobs, removal of 1,000+ underground storage tanks, and redevelopment of 200+ acres of contaminated urban land.  Drafted and successfully negotiated a development agreement for a $55 million marina, restaurant and housing development.  Established and negotiated terms for an agreement to demolish a 77-story building that paved the way for the construction of Comerica Park and Ford Field, the current homes of Major League Baseball and Football teams in Detroit.
