eRΑ – 11 Conference 1 Dear Participants of eRA-11,
Welcome to eRA-11 International Scientific Conference. The program of this conference includes over 60 presentations in several sessions. The sessions are referred to Science, Economy, Technology and Education. Many younger researchers are presenting their work and valuable contributions are added to the sessions. The year 2016 UNESCO celebrates the 2400th anniversary from Aristotle’s birth as “Aristotle Anniversary Year”. It is important to promote intellectual and cultural heritage of the whole world and the contribution of the Aristotelian Thinking in the Technological Evolution and Social Progress. I think that eRA-11 proves that research and international collaboration may give positive feedback to the society and encourage researchers to work harder.

"Aristotelian thinking as the base of technological evolution"
Aristotle is considered as one of the greatest philosophers of all times and his name means "the best purpose". He was born in Stagira, Macedonia, Greece near to Thessaloniki in 384 BC. His great spirit led him to Plato's Academy (Athens), where he studied for nearly two decades. He established the Aristotelian Lyceum of Athens, which became a center of scientific research for a long time period, while the foundation and establishment of the Aristotelian Library led to gather an enormous collection of papyrus, being a model for the creation of the world famous Alexandria Library. He wrote hundreds of books, referring to philosophy, mathematics, physics, politics, art, biology etc. From them only 47 survive today in complete form and there exist various extracts from others, for which, however, the authenticity has not been confirmed yet. The year (2016) UNESCO celebrates the 2400th anniversary from Aristotle's birth as "Aristotle Anniversary Year". The contribution of Aristotle in education and science is of great importance for the evolution in science and technology. He expressed the rules that the technological progress ought to serve the people's needs and the welfare of human beings. Optimal utilization of technology tends to become a determining factor in the evolution of humanity itself.
