Binky’s pants rip in class and everyone laughs. Since that day Arthur keeps having dreams that he is in his underwear in front of everyone. The only thing that cures Arthur of the underwear dreams is a rip of his own pants at school.

Introductions

1. Show the students the cover of the book. As them what they believe the book will be about.

2. Ask the students if they have ever had a dream that reoccurs. Then ask what they did to stop having the dream. Say, “Today in Arthur’s Underwear we will discover Arthur’s reoccurring dream.

3. Discuss different fears that you and the student have. Then say, “Today we will discover one of Arthur’s fears in Arthur’s Underwear.”
