¿Cómo se llama? Literally, “How are you called” = What is your name? ¿Cómo se dice? Literally, “How is it said” = How do you say….? ¿Cómo se escribe? Literally, “How is it written” = How do you spell/write …..? ¿Cómo estás? How are you? / How are you doing?
¿Dónde? (Where?)
¿Dónde está mi pluma? Where is my pen? ¿Dónde vive? Where do you live? ¿Dónde trabaja? Where do you work?
¿Cuánto? (How much?) ¿Cuántos / Cuántas? (How many?)
¿Cuánto cuesta? How much does it cost? ¿Cuántos años tiene? Literally, “How many years do you have” = How old are you?
**Please note: Cuántos/Cuántas must agree in gender with the plural nouns that they describe!
¿Cuántas niñas tiene en su familia? How many girls do you have in your family? ¿Cuántos hermanos tiene? How many brothers do you have?

Ayer – Yesterday Hoy – Today Mañana -- Tomorrow **Combining the prepositions and the interrogative phrases given above will lead to even better and more specific questions:
¿De qué hablas? Literally, “Of what are you speaking” = What are you talking about? ¿A qué hora empieza la clase? At what time does the class begin? ¿En qué parte de Texas vives? In what part of Texas do you live?
¿A dónde va? Literally, “To where do you go? = Where are you going? ¿De dónde es? Literally, “Of where are you? = Where are you from?
¿Con quién habla? Literally, “With whom do you speak? = Who are you talking to? ¿De quién es esta pluma? Literally, “Of whom is this pen? = Whose pen is this? ¿Para quién es la comida? Literally, “For whom is the food? = Who is the food for?
