The field trip is scheduled for Friday, February 6, 2015. On that day, we will visit the Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We will leave the school campus at 8:00 a.m. and will return at 5:00 p.m. Please make necessary arrangements to pick up your child at the designated time.

The cost per child will be $5.00. (Make checks payable to Chinquapin Elementary School.) This fee will cover all transportation cost. We were able to receive funds through the William R. Kenan, Jr. Scholarship. The scholarship will pay for all student admission as well as lunch. The free lunch will contain a classic chicken sandwich, potato chips, a chocolate chip cookie and a canned drink from Chick-fil-A. Students that do not eat chicken may bring a bagged lunch from home or purchase one from the school cafeteria.

If students would like to visit the gift shop while on the field trip they will need to bring money. Students will be responsible for keeping up with their money and anything they purchase while on the field trip.

Make note of any medical conditions (allergies, asthma, etc) and/or medications that you child’s teacher should be aware of for this trip.

Note: “Students can be excluded from field trips due to disciplinary problems.” If a student receives a discipline referral, it will be left up to the teacher’s discretion as to whether that student will be permitted to go on the field trip.

We must have all permission forms and money no later than Friday, December 5, 2014.
