From time to time, it is necessary to place a caller on hold….this might be your hotel’s only opportunity to capture the attention of a potential guest.

On hold messaging is an important additional marketing tool, as it provides information on services and products being offered at your hotel primarily to none guests.

The message should be concise, factual and should be representative of the Brand’s voice and position.

For the sake of consistency throughout all of our hotels, we have selected GM Voices and Talent Chris to deliver our on hold messages. Frequently asked questions

What is an update? Updates are actually on-hold programs. You have the option to purchase 6 or 12 updates with the GM Voices program. You can use these for any “chris” (aloft Persona) session; they do not expire. Use them as your property decides to update your on-hold program.

Is there a Standard Script? aloft hotels has provided a standard script; however, we do encourage each aloft hotel to use ‘property specific’ messages (i.e. the hotel location highlights , promotions etc)

Do I have to use Chris as my voice talent? Chris is the persona that aloft selected after auditioning many talents. This is the only talent voice that GM Voices may use for aloft hotel locations.

When does Chris record? Chris records a minimum of twice monthly however, it may be as often as once per week. Once contact is made with GM Voices, your aloft hotel is set up in their database to receive notifications of Chris’ recording schedule in order for you to prepare for any updates you would like to request. Requests are due a day prior to his actual recording session for preparation time by GM Voices’ Operations and Production Teams.

Delivery Standard delivery is three business days from date of recording. The update price includes Standard Ground Shipping (in the US only) or delivery of the audio to FTP (for you to downloaded and prepare as needed-CD etc). If expedited shipping is requested, additional charges will be incurred.

What equipment do I need for on-hold messages and what is the format? If your Phone System supports on-hold messaging then you will not need to purchase new equipment. Leasing is also available,

1. If your Phone System supports on-hold messaging, you must indicate how you would like the on-hold messaging returned to you to be able to work with your system..ie, CD format or cassette. As well, most on-hold message equipment requires the mix of audio and music to be a specific length. This is generally 4,6 or 8 minutes long. You will need to provide that information to GM Voices so that they are aware of your specifi equipment requirments. 2. If your Phone System does not support on-hold messaging, then you will need to purchase new on-hold equipment which is available through GM Voices at a reduced Starwood rate.
