November 5, 2015 – Day 2

Veterans Day is an official United States federal holiday that is observed every year on November 11, honoring people who have served in the United States Armed Forces, also known as veterans. Tomorrow, Log College will honor veterans at our annual Veterans Day assembly. During the assembly, the entire school will stand and sing our country’s national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner.

Tomorrow we are asking that all students and staff participate in our veteran’s day assembly by dressing in our patriotic colors: 8th grade will wear red, seventh grade will wear white & 6th grade will wear blue!

If you are bringing a Veteran to school on Friday, please remind them to report to the gym in Log College by 8:40am. You will be called down Friday morning to greet your Veteran.

Students performing in Friday morning’s Veterans Recognition Assembly please check in with your HR teacher Friday morning and immediately report to the auditorium. This includes all musical groups performing, as well as all speakers.

In honor of Veteran’s Day, all month long Log will be participating in a fundraiser to support Operation Ward 57. Stop by the school store to purchase t-shirts, bracelets and dog-tags to support our veterans. We will also be having a soft-pretzel sale after school next Thursday- so don’t forget to bring in $1! Thank you for your support!

Jordan Sonnenblick books are available for sale. If you would like to purchase one of his books---ask your homeroom teacher for an order form or stop by the library. If you purchase one of his books by November 11th, you will be entered into a drawing to attend the book signing.
