Good to know before traveling:

o Both Costa Rica operate on the same voltage as US outlets and have the same standard 2 or 3 prong sockets. o You will be in the rain forest – it will rain! This will result in muddy and wet clothing, so plan accordingly when packing. o Many hotels do not allow their towels to be brought to the beach, so it’s a good idea to have your own. o Prepare for a variety of weather conditions (cool in mountains / hot near beach) – check typical patterns for the season and pack smart. Averages for July: Hi = 81 / Low 67 o You will be on the move changing locations/hotels every couple days – make sure you are comfortable carrying your own bags and that they can be unpacked and repacked easily. Also, if you will have trouble with long bus rides on unpaved roads, pack some motion sickness medicine! o Be prepared for sun and bugs! Come with sunscreen and deet as a preventative step and pack some first aid for bug bites and sunburn.
