Nigel Cook 1.1 Review Rules of Conduct

1.2 Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting.

The minutes from March 2015 were approved by Phil Brockmanand seconded by Stephane Chaumeil. Motion Passed.

2.0 NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION

Mike Noettl reviewed the Functions and Operation of the Nadcap Chemical Processing Task Group (CPTG) as well as the role of this committee in support of the Task Group.

3.0 CP-SAT MISSION STATEMENT

The CP-SAT mission statement was reviewed.

4.0 STATUS OF OPEN ACTION ITEMS

Supplier Attendance at CP-SAT: Action Item: Nigel Cook to collate data on supplier/subscriber attendance over the last 5 years to determine how numbers are changing. The attendance outside of the Pittsburgh meeting is low. Action: Closed.

AMS2700: Latest revision requires the use of ASTM D1193 Type IV water for immersion testing and make up of copper sulphate test solution. ASTM D1193 Type IV water has significant test requirements, not just conductivity. CP-SAT to develop a proposal to submit to SAE Committee B via Bob Koukol. The ASTM requires numerous tests other than just conductivity and a number of other test methods require distilled water. Mike Noettl and Jim Cummings reviewed a number of specifications, including Prime specifications, and these also went back to distilled water. The proposal is therefore to replace Type IV water with distilled water in AMS2700 paras 3.2.1.2 and 3.2.1.3.1.

AC7108 allows the use of deionized water of ≤5µS where the specification calls out deionized water. Request TG to make request to SAE Committee B.

Supplier Support Committee (SSC) Representative: Dave Michaud has not attended recent Chemical Processing Task Group (CPTG) meetings and there is concern that he is not as in touch with the views of the present Chemical Processing Supplier membership. Mike Noettl to talk to Dave Michaud about his ability to attend the CPTG meetings. Dave’s job has changed and he is standing down as the CP Representative to the SSC Committee.

The CP-SAT voted to nominate Eric Jacklin as the designated SSC representative and Tammi Schubert as the alternate representative should Eric not be able to attend and ask for ratification from the Task Group Chairperson and CP Lead Staff Engineer. Eric and Tammi are long standing active voting members of the CPTG.

Auditor Consistency: There seems to be a lot of audits, including initial audits that have zero major NCRs. Is there any correlation with auditors that attend the annual auditor conference and the number of NCRs raised by those auditors? Request that the Auditor Consistency team look into this.

5.0 NEW BUSINESS

Visual Acceptance Requirements: Concern that product is being rejected at Subscribers because the new engineers don’t understand the final product and what is and is not acceptable, e.g. masking line creep, undefined FOD, colour of conversion coating and undyed anodize. Specifications and drawings do not typically define these items. Need to build a matrix of process and acceptable conditions that are being rejected.

Action Item: Charles Costello to build a matrix of process and acceptable conditions that are being rejected for Visual Acceptance Requirements. (Due Date: 21-Oct-2015) CHEMICAL PROCESSING – SUPPLIER ACTION TEAM (CP-SAT) JUNE 2015 CONFIRMED

Alternative Representation for NMC Representative: The NMC representative has voting rights at the NMC level and is also required to participate at meeting between the scheduled TG meetings. Due to the commitment required to support NMC activities the representative is not always available to attend the regular TG meetings.

Motion made by Jerry Wahlin and seconded by Dennis Reidy to request an alternate reprentative position for the NMC Representative. Motion Passed.

If this is agreed it was also decided to allow Jim Cummings to select his alternate.

Meeting Duration: The meeting is finishing very early, could Any Other Business (AOB) also be a holding place for subjects/items that can be discussed if time becomes available. People to provide Nigel Cook a list of subjects that could be added to AOB for discussion at future Task Group meetings if time becomes available.

Supplier Attendance at CP-SAT: The attendance outside of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States meeting is low and we need to encourage participation in this meeting, particularly outside the US. Ideas were discussed to encourage attendance, e.g. run a 30 minute training session at each CP-SAT meeting.

6.0 DEVELOP AGENDA
