Letter to Service Providers

A Chara,

The first TEC Registrations service providers will be asked to submit through PIP will be for those children in their service registered for one of the TEC programmes up to the 25th August 2017 and whose parent’s eligibility dates extend into the next programme year and who still require TEC-funded childcare.

To assist services in managing information collection for the PIP Registrations before the forms become live on the system, a TEC Pre-registration Form is available to download from the PIP Homepage and from your PIP Portal from Friday 18th August 2016. Service providers can either choose to ask parents to fill in this form or wait to fill in the TEC PIP Registration form when it goes live on the 28th of August 2017. In either case, the parent must sign the PIP Parent Declaration Form once the child is registered on the PIP System.

The 2017/18 TEC Letter for parents is also available to download from the PIP Homepage and PIP Portal. Please provide a copy of this letter to each parent wishing to register his/her child in a TEC programme in your service.

*Parents will also be required to ‘sign-in’ at your service on a weekly basis to declare that they are still in attendance at their course/placement and continue to be eligible for their individual TEC programme.

To allow for the crossover of existing TEC children between one programme year and the next, an advance payment will be paid to services (whose tax clearance details are up-to- date). The payment will be equivalent to the value of two weeks based on the number of PIP- registered children who will be continuing to avail of the TEC Programme in that service from August 28th. Another cut will be taken on actual 2017/18 PIP Registrations for payment on the 2nd September to pay Service Providers up to September 23rd, with a catch-up payment on the 1st September also planned. Payments after this date will be placed on hold if the fees list and service calendar are not completed by the 22nd September.
