Deep Sea Fishing Club Minutes April 1, 2017

Vice President Everett Belter called the meeting to order around 9:00 am and led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. John Kluck reported that there were 24 new members and 12 that renewed their dues.

Everett observed the passing of long time member Fran Denson. He also announced that a lot of equipment had been donated to the club and was sold at this meeting earning enough to give a free trip ticket during the 100% raffle drawing at the end of the meeting.

OLD BUSINESS: Everett reported the he and President Mo Davison had been working with an apparel shop, “Gotta Get Your Name On” to make available for the members to purchase apparel with the approved “The Villages” registered trade mark along with a Deep Sea Fishing Club Logo. The Club will take orders for hats that members want their names imprinted on and still have tee shirts and other hats available at the Club meetings. Members can also go to the shop at 1124 Bichara Blvd. in The Villages, to purchase additional items. The shop has also agreed to allow members to bring in their own stuff and they will put the logos on it for a small fee. Gotta Get Your Name on is located near Publix grocery by Spanish Springs.

The trip Coordinators gave the reports from the charters that went out during the month of March.

NEW BUSINESS: Bud Mangels reported that he had met with Captain Rodney Rogers and told the members that they should contact Captain Rogers directly to book trips outside the club. Captain Rogers info will be posted on the web site through April.

Captain Dillion from Hubbards in Johns Pass-St Pete, set up a display and gave a presentation at the meeting. Everett Reported that 13 volunteers were still need for the picnic to be held on Thursday April 13, 2017.

Tom Martin reported that he had enough members sign up for the April 20 trip on the Thunder, that there will be a bus.

Captain Muldrow; April all trips were booked and May 8, 17, 24, & 31

Captain Robinson; April 10 and May 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 19, 26, & 30

Captain Shannon; April 4, 5, 10, 11, 24, & 25 and May 3, 4, 8, 10, 22, 23, & 24

Captain Shidler; April 4, 14, & 18

In The Atlantic

Good Time Charters; April 4-6, 12, 14, 17, 18, 22, 23, 28, & 30 and

May 3, 5, 8, 17, 19, 20, 24, 28, & 31

Off Duty Charters; April 4, 8, 17, & 22 and May 10, 11, 16, 19, 20, 21, 24, & 25

Waterproof Charters April 5, & 13

Treasurer Steve Newman gave the financial report and handled the 100% raffle with the following 11 winners from ticket sales and 1 winner from sale of donated equipment; Marie Baima, Jim Bostch, Oscar Lovering, Wayne Vodar, Roger Kemmell, Tom Barriti, Jim Bascom, Jay Wolfe, Charles Sandquist, Roy Aders, John Dean, and Dale Nielson.

Next meeting Saturday May 6, 2017. Meeting adjourned prior to 10:00 am.
