The DESE has clarified that evidence should be collected for each standard NOT each indicator; see DESE document Evidence of Practice and Student Learning. Recent Ribas training also clarified that three to seven pieces of evidence PER STANDARD are sufficient. The question remains for individual districts, schools, and departments to clarify how much evidence is sufficient and what would be too little. While evidence should hit a variety of indicators, it need not hit all. Keeping in mind that many of our current initiatives already generate documentation for various standards, the CCHS English Department recommends the following: Indicator Standard 4 – Professional Culture The following documents are used and collected routinely by the English department and count as evidence for parts of Standard 4 for (typically) all department members. - (T) progress on Team goals - (P) progress on Personal goals - (B) Benchmark Essay Exam implementation, scoring, and data collection - (S) SDRT Reading Comprehension Test Implementation, Scoring, and Data Collection - (PD) Constructive, professional, and productive participation in department-based ELA Professional Development as verified with sign in sheets, agendas and PD certificates - (C) Constructive and professional conduct and participation in department meetings (see sign in sheets, agenda, notes) - (M) Review of MCAS content and data (during department meeting/s) to reflect on and improve instruction - (D) DDM piloting scheduled to start 2014 Standard 4 -A1 RecommendedAny to screen upload: shot, document, or example related to any three of the Reflective Practice routine1.3 items listed above.
