Vanja and Justin Waters

In October of 2010, Stephanie invited me to one of her boot camp classes. Now I will admit, while I had a well established fitness routine, I usually worked out on my own. And I didn't think I did too badly of a job. But, the days were getting shorter and running in the dark gets a little old during the fall and winter months, so I thought I would give it a try. I can honestly say, after that very first class, I was hooked. It was great!! In just one hour, I got a great cardio workout, mixed with amazing strengthening and toning.

Boot camp is like having your own personal trainer. Each class is different, and you can always count on a full body workout, to your own ability. I saw an increase in my running endurance, mountain biking became easier and my strength training saw a 'lift' as well. My husband even noticed a difference, especially when I was the one passing him on climbs while mountain biking. I repeatedly told him he would benefit from boot camp (especially with biking), so last spring he finally gave it a try.

He started attending once a week, and since this past summer we both attend twice a week. He saw huge endurance leaps in biking, and with a little diet modification (he cut out late night snacking) has lost 20 pounds. He feels (and looks) more fit then he has in several years. Someone noticed his 'fitness' this past fall and asked him what he was doing. He told them he attended Stephanie's boot camp. When they asked what made it so much better then what he was doing before, he replied "it's all the things we should be doing to stay fit, but would never do on our own".

We both look forward to the next session, yes even getting up early. After all, it is only 2 hours a week. I hope everyone would do their body a favor, and give it a try.
