BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF CAPE COD CELEBRATES THANKSGIVING

Every year the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod celebrates Thanksgiving with a free turkey dinner with all the fixings for every child in the Club and their families. This year the dinner is on Friday, November 18 at 5 pm. Prior to the dinner their will be a carnival with games and prizes held in the gym starting at 4 pm.

Children have been busy making centerpieces for the tables and lists of things that they are thankful for. Below is what one boy had to say he was “THANKFUL” for at the Boys & Girls Club.

My “T-H-A-N-K-F-U-L” List By Chris - age 9

T= I am thankful for T he Boys and Girls Club, because they give us a delicious dinner every Friday H= I am thankful for having such a great staff at the club because they are all very helpful A= I am thankful for awesome parents because they let me come to the club everyday N= I am thankful that I have n ever been suspended from the club, because I would miss not being able to come K= I am thankful for k ids that come to the club, because a lot of them go to my school, and I can hang out with them and make new friends F= I am thankful for fun things to do at the club because I am always occupied U= I am thankful for understanding staff at the club, because whatever happens, they seem to understand L= I am thankful for all of the loving staff at the club because without them, we wouldn’t be here!!

The dinner and carnival are a great opportunity for parents to enroll their children as members and to enjoy the holiday fun. Membership in the Boys & Girls Club is only $15 for the entire school year and is open to any child and teen on Cape Cod, ages 6-18. Membership in the Club means that the children can come to the Club anytime that the Club is open with no additional charge Monday through Friday from 2-7, for teens only on Wednesday nights from 7-9 and Friday nights from 7-10, all day Saturday from 10:30- 4:30 and during school vacations all day. The Club is open on Wednesday and Friday of the Thanksgiving vacation from 8:30 am until 5:30pm with special field trips planned for both days. On Wednesday the Club will be visiting Channel 5 to see the midday news and on Friday they will be going to the MOM ride at Jordan Furniture in Avon. Children need to sign up for the trips in advance and space is limited. For more information call 508-477-8845
