Send corrections/additions to Paul Franklin. Reviewed document: “Steps in the Compliance Process.doc” Used term “compliance screening” instead of “compliance testing” to acknowledge that the tests performed at the plug fest do not achieve 100% coverage. Recommendation: Vendors bring a copy of Lynn’s spreadsheet to plug fest filled out to reflect the in-house testing they have performed. Compliance TWG will use a second copy of spreadsheet to track plug fest results, and will keep both copies. May eventually add a second column to spreadsheet to allow internal and plug fest testing to be recorded in one spreadsheet, but for now will use two copies. Could also use color coding to distinguish which items were tested in-hour/at plug fest/both/neither. Item 2 in “At a Plug Fest” section: Language needs to be modified to reflect that it may not be TWG performing tests, particularly at a privately arranged plug fest. Need to add language to cover the situation when third party test labs or services perform the testing. At plug fest we will have paper copies of spreadsheet (Paul Franklin will provide) that vendors will carry around with their devices to each testing station. Each station will complete appropriate section(s) to reflect the outcome of their testing. Following the plug fest, the compliance TWG will transfer paper records back into a copy of spreadsheet that becomes the official record of test results. The “Application for LXI Compliance Certification” will be the form previously created by Jochen. Need a form for applying based on Technical justification. For now vendor will send an email to Compliance TWG stating “X is essentially identical to Y” and give a description: Example: uses same processor, firmware, Ethernet chipset, etc. Email should detail any relevant differences, and what evaluation was done to ensure difference to not adversely affect compliance. Will also have copies of the annotated spreadsheets from the TWGs detailing which rules are covered by their screening. These might be useful for deciding between fully compliant and conditionally compliant.
