Hennigan 28 29 30 HISTORY OF LEGISLATIVE ACTIONS 31 32 Date Body Action Description with journal page number 33 4/29/2014 House Introduced, adopted, sent to Senate ( House Journalpage 71) 34 4/30/2014 Senate Introduced, adopted, returned with concurrence ( Senate Journalpage 16) 35 36 37 VERSIONS OF THIS BILL 38 39 4/29/2014 40 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 10 11 TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR CAPTAIN DANIEL C. 12 HENNIGAN, UNITED STATES ARMY RETIRED, OF 13 LEXINGTON COUNTY AND TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS 14 EXTRAORDINARY VOLUNTEER SERVICE TO HIS 15 COMMUNITY, TO OUR STATE, AND TO THIS NATION. 16 17 Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the 18 South Carolina General Assembly should pause in their 19 deliberations to commend Captain Daniel C. “Dan” Hennigan, a 20 totally disabled veteran who spends a copious amount of his time 21 and energy in volunteering for the benefit of his fellow man; and 22 23 Whereas, he supports his local community as the program 24 chairman of the Lexington Rotary Club and as a board member of 25 the Harbour Watch community. He also serves as a board member 26 of the Celebrate Freedom Foundation, an educational outreach 27 program, which focuses on science, technology, engineering, and 28 mathematics and which is dedicated to enhancing the performance, 29 success, and personal growth of young people; and 30 31 Whereas, medically retired, Dan Hennigan devotes a considerable 32 amount of his volunteer service to help fellow veterans; and 33 34 Whereas, a South Carolina National Guard Senior State 35 Ambassador, he honors World War II military veterans as a board 36 member of the Honor Flight of South Carolina and serves as a 37 board member of the United Services Organization (USO); and 38 39 Whereas, Mr. Hennigan serves on the advisory board of the South 40 Carolina Honorary Deputy Sheriff and Lexington County Sheriff’s 41 Department (LCSD) Sheriff Foundation, and he is the founder and 42 chairman of the South Carolina First Responders Remembrance

[5149] 2 1 9/11 Memorial and the founder of the South Carolina Remembers 2 9/11 Student Essay Project with the New York City Fire 3 Department (FDNY); and 4 5 Whereas, Mr. Hennigan has been named a San Francisco Honorary 6 Police Chief and an FDNY Honorary Battalion Chief; and 7 8 Whereas, he serves as the chairman of the Pediatric Brain Tumor 9 Cure “Ride For Kids” and as a board member of the Boy Scouts of 10 America; and 11 12 Whereas, together with his beloved wife, Cindi, Dan Hennigan 13 reared two fine sons, Bryan and Jason; and 14 15 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly 16 are grateful for the outstanding volunteer service of this dedicated 17 citizen, whose service addresses needs in our communities that 18 would likely not be addressed without volunteer effort and whose 19 life teaches the noble characteristic of service above self. Now, 20 therefore, 21 22 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 23 concurring: 24 25 That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this 26 resolution, recognize and honor Captain Daniel C. Hennigan, 27 United States Army retired, of Lexington County and commend 28 him for his extraordinary volunteer service to his community, to 29 our State, and to this nation. 30 31 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 32 Captain Daniel C. Hennigan, United States Army retired. 33 XX 34
